A single TT bay is more expensive than 1/4". You get more patchpoints on a TT than a 1/4" though so to get the same number of 1/4" you have to buy more bays. TT cables are generally more expensive too. TT's are also much more of a pain to solder because they are crowded in closer together. The write-on strip is also smaller on a TT. Now that it seems I've totally downed TT bays, that is the only type I would go with. Since you get more points on a bay it doesn't take as much room to get the number of patchpoints you need. Also, they're just a little more "pro" looking.
