    Universal Patchbay?

It's called a patchbay. It serves to manage the connections between the different pieces of the synth. That's all. It does not do any signal processing on its own. The one in the video is a homebuild.

    Universal Patchbay?

A patchbay is simply a device for managing connections between devices. It does no signal processing on its own. Can you find that video and post a link for people to look at? That would be very helpful.

    Light bulb compressor

Sounds to me that it would be acting as an attenuator, rather than a compressor. All you are doing is introducing a resistive load. I have an Altair Power Attenuator that consists of a bunch of nichrome wire coils wired up to a rotary switch. It goes between the amp and speaker cabinet and...

    Send/Return Module US Source?

I'm looking for a US source for a couple of Neutrik NYS-SPCR Send/Return Modules for my patch panel. All the suppliers I'm finding are in Europe. Anybody know of a source? Or have a couple to sell? Thanks in advance, Jeff

    Outboard Pres through Firepod ..?

The connectors on the Firepod will take either an XLR or a 1/4" phone plug. If you plug in an XLR, it assumes microphone and if you plug in a 1/4", on channels 3-8 it assumes line level. On channels 1 and 2, it assumes instrument. Hope this helps. Jeff

    Place to download Cubase LE?

You could contact Steinberg. They might be willing to ship you a new CD, considering you have a valid key.

    WHat is this plug/input?

If your mixer outputs use TRS, you can use TRS cables and you will have a balanced signal. If your mixer outputs use TS, you may as well use TS cables because you will have an unbalanced signal regardless of cable. It probably won't be a problem unless you have a long cable run.

    multiple tracks?

That will give you 2 channels at one time, which doesn't allow for much tweaking. I understand a lot of people use 8 or more channels for drums. Haven't tried it myself. On the other hand. a lot of people do it with just the overheads. Just pointing out the limitation. It won't cost you too...

    MSH-1A matched pair test

Sounds really nice on the computer speakers here at work. Can't wait to hear it at home. I think I'll be buying a pair. Been thinking about it because I need some omnis and the price is good and I like supporting small businesses, especially people who do what they do for the love of it...

    Fading out

I think I understand your question. You have 2 consecutive events, which you call riffs. You want to do a continuous fade from the beginning of riff A to the end of riff B. The current problem is that the processing results in riff A fading to the end point, followed by riff B starting at...

    multiple tracks?

The Firepod also comes with Cubase LE, which is not bad at all. If you decide to upgrade to Cubase SX, you can save $100 by having LE.

    cubase le w/ firepod

If you are hooking up an instrument, you must use input 1 or 2 with a 1/4 inch plug. If you hooking up line level, you must use input 3-8 with a 1/4 inch plug. If you are using a microphone, you must use an XLR connector in any one of the 8 inputs. If your mike is a condensor, you must turn...

    firepod rig help.

It's very nice indeed. It will give you a fair introduction to Cubase and if you want to upgrade to Cubase SX (much more powerful and flexible), you can save $100 on the upgrade package versus the regular package. Definitely check out the LE that comes with the Firepod. You'll probably like...

Any thoughts on GC MXL 990/991 deal

It doesn't look like the Tascam supplies phantom power, which the condensor mikes need. This is not unsurmountable, though it will cost a little more money. I don't have time right now to point you at any, but I hope someone will come along shortly that can. I have seen plans to build your...

URGENTplease help! How do I Connect those!!!??

I suspect they're assuming you would be using 2 mikes at once at some time. 1 XLR cable/mike 1 1/4"-1/4"/mike (from preamp to mixer) 1 1/4"-1/4"/KRK X 2 mikes equals 2 XLR cables plus 4 1/4"-1/4" cables That would explain it. Jeff
