    Four More Days...

...I hope it's worth the hype. I get butterfly's in my stomach thinking about the 29th. Is that /sad/ or what? Audio Geekdom knows no bounds. -L

Audio speed/pitch problem in Cakewalk Pro Audio 9

Sounds like your not using the same sample rate... Make sure that both of you are set up to use the same sample rate and bit depth (44.1 and 16 bit or whatever). That's the most common cause of what you're describing. Your system could be recording at 44.1 KHz and he's using 48 or something...

When's the chat? Point me to the instructions for it, I'll show up...you guys are great. What time (and time zone) is it? -L

    Cake Walk & Aardvark Setup

Port assignment...try this: Ok so I'm starting to think you've got /two/ wee problems here; your new sound card doesn't have synthesis, and you might have the output ports defaulting to your old soundcard. First: Load up a .bun file with midi /and/ some audio tracks. I would suggest "Don't...

    New Sonar information!

video...need more video... I do a lot of avi importing. But for the most part, the film I get is fairly well edited. (Can you say "Not a pro job") but I would be /very/ interested if Sonar had improved video support. I would REALLY LOVE it if Cakewalk paid whatever license MickeySoft wants to...

    New Sonar information!

Scoring and the D20! Man I remember the D-series... my first experience with midi was when my father brought home a Roland D10 and "12 Tone Systems Cakewalk 2.0" ( or was is 2.5?) /That/ takes me back...very cool. You want to get some experience scoring? Check out Random Foo Pictures...

    New Sonar information!

As will I... I plan on taking some time off from work to get into this one... [DS_Sultan] what kind of work do you do with Cakewalk? Just curious... I bang out tunes of my own (w/ a couple sound modules) and score film shorts for one of the local indie film groups (payment? what's that...)...

    Cake Walk & Aardvark Setup

"Wires Crossed"...bad choice of words. Perhaps I misunderstood, I agree with what you said about the Aark not having onboard synthesis, but I am confused as to the "tutorial music or midi clips" not playing. That's why I asked for more info. The tutorial /audio/ should play fine even if the...

    Cake Walk & Aardvark Setup

Are you sure... I think you guys might be getting your wires crossed. Could you explain the problem again? 1) After installed the Aark are you saying that the audio in cakewalk doesn't play through it? 2) Or are you saying the sample audio tunes from cakewalk won't play out it? (the .bun...

    OK so where is Sonar??

My opinion... I certainly will give anyone my (modest) opinion when the durn thing shows up. I live 6.2 miles from their office in cambridge, and I can /smell/ the software being made. (Or is that just desperation...) -L

Windows ME and Home studio9 ?

Sadness. I do not believe there are any ME drivers for the SoundBlaster PCI line. The PCI line is different from the SB Live line. I'm not sure but I couldn't find a model called "SoundBlaster PCI 16". I found a SoundBlaster 16 (no ME drivers) and several SoundBlaster PCI[128,256,512] cards...

    Echo Mia

Echo Products I'm using an Echo Gina24 and have a Mia on order (due the first week of April...so says Musician's Friend) And I anticipate the Mia's audio to be at least as good as the Gina24, which is considerable. I'm running my mikes and keys into a Mackie VLZ1202 PRO and running from there...

pips and pops are driving me nuts

Probably an IRQ conflict. One suggestion I would make would be to remove any modem/fax board you have and see if the problem stops. On three occasions I have found problems with clicks and pops caused by "WinModems", voice/data modems and modems that use the PC's sound drivers for voicemail...
