    Reggae'ish / Mainstream'ish Song...

No vocals, anyone wanna add some? ;) Reggae'ish / Mainstream'ish Song... Aside from slightly getting off beat and jacking up the drum part in a few places, I might've also mixed it a bit too loud. I think I'm starting to finally, atleast somewhat, get the hang of this whole...

    Heavier Song.

Heavier Song (Re-edited version, after the first 3 posts in this thread) There's some parts I need to fix like the beginning you can hear a buzz from the electric... the thing I'm most dissatisfied with is the toms, they're too dampened. Used DKFH Superior with a TD6S Roland for the drums.

My Remake of "Nada Surf - Popular"

hehe... well, this was all me playing, bass / guitar / drums. when recording this one i really wasn't putting any emphasis on playing tight, as i was kind of in a hurry to get it done within a night and focus on trying to get experience with mixing/mastering. i'm also rusty on the drums...

2 tracks for a fuller guitar? (distortion)

A buddy of mine recommended that I beef up a verse (all just powerchords on distortion) by recording a 2nd track of the same thing and panning one left and the other right, to provide for a fuller guitar sound... is this common practice? Thanks! (i TRIED posting this in the recording forum...

My Remake of "Nada Surf - Popular"

There's no vocals, but this is pretty much my first attempt at making something sound somewhat similar with decent quality... also, even though the mp3 is 3:30, it pretty much ends at 2:30 (forgot to cut off the last minute). Nada Surf - Popular Equipment used: - Washburn electric and Cort...

    mic for acoustic and vocals

"Or will you forget me"... of course, if she's the average chick she'll not only forget about you, but the week after the break up she'll be all over a new guy repeating the cycle. ;) i'm pretty much a beginner, and I have a toneport ux2. the only thing I notice about your acoustic is that...

Creating a soundproof structure around your Mic?

Creating a soundproof structure around your Mic?

how about this idea for starters??? get a cardboard box, soundproof it with soundproofing, get the mic in the middle of it, (so it'd be covered on the sides and the back).. it'd probably help eliminate a lot of sound.

Creating a soundproof structure around your Mic?

For some reason on this forums page listing, there aren't any "Page 1 2 3 4 >>" buttons etc, so I can't research if this has been an issue discussed before (and I have no idea what I'd search for).. so here it is, sorry if it's a redundant question... My room isn't dry at all (it's a bedroom)...

Which is better for acoustic recording : KMS27 or SM81

I went to guitar center yesterday, prepared to buy the SM81 ($60 more than the KMS27)... but the dude there highly recommended the KMS27 for acoustic recording as he had experience with it. So I went with the KMS27, but I figure I SHOULD get other opinions with experience, because I don't want...

I bought a KSM27 for recording an acoustic guitar (Disappointed so far)

omg. that WAS the problem! what's really funny, is earlier this morning I read this post and I was like "yes, yes, I had it pointing the correct direction"... and a lil later i decided to get out the manual again and i re-read the part that says which direction = front, and I read through too...
