In the low end of monitors, I tried KRK, JBL, Alesis,Event, Tannoy, and some others. I ended up buying the Tannoy Reveals. Others had severe problems of mids being scooped, highs too high and so on.
I recommend Tannoy Reveals
You really ought to ask some direct questions like:
How do I...
What do I use to...
If it sounds like ??? and I want it to sound like ??? how do I...
Ask and you will receive.
3 MICS:
1 dead center overhead
1 on snare
1 in kick
4 MICS:
2 overheads
1 on snare
1 on kick
I just recorded with 8 mics and 4 used like I listed actually give a great sound if EQ'd correctly.
If you want to have something that sounds professional, you can't fake it. Just record it twice and process them correctly. It is a lot of work but it is definitely worth the effort.

There are a lot of reviews to be found if you search for Digi-001 on Lycos. You can go to the Digidesign website as well...www.digidesign.com . Digi-001 is not a digitech product. It is a version of Protools and a hardware package for Mac or PC for recording. It offers 24...
I guess after everything has been said (and repeated) on thing remains...
A mic that sounds good is a good sounding mic regardless of what price it is or who makes it.

You'll have to play around and find what your ears like. I'm not to keen on the slap effect as it usually sounds to manufactured to me...no offense intended guys. It might be just what you are looking for or it may not be.
You decide.;)
There are many tricks to fattening a vocal track but most of them sound hokey.
I would do 1 of 2 things.
1) Record 2 seperate tracks in 2 takes.
2) Take the existing vocal. copy it onto a seperate track. Compress the snot out of one of them and add a little highs to brighten it and then mix...
OMG...
I just found what seems to be the best loop/synth virtual hardware. I was at Mars checking out Fruity Loops and Acid ( I can't afford Virus...795.00) and I was introduced to reason.
Reason is the most flexible and most powerful loop software out. It also has analog synth modes...
OK guys...
I found a crdible test and review of the C-1 against the U-87 and the U-87 mod at Digital Pro Sound's web site.
They went through the typical discussions and near the end offer 3 wav files, one of each mic on an acoustic. I downloaded them and played them through my studio monitors...
Batat,
You might check your information again. I don't believe that what you are saying is correct. There is a lot of information to the contrary.
Sjoko2,
Do you use it? Or do you know how professional? i am still in the early stages tracking drums and bass. However, I am excited about what is happening....sounds good.
