PA beginner to bars...where's the beef?

Agreed. The SP2 is a decent cabinet that can grow with you as well. It will most likely be more efficient than the RS it's replacing...plus if you do wind up grenading the horn with clipping, the diaphragm is ridiculously easy to replace on them. I'd get it in a heartbeat.

    USB 2.0 or FireWire 400?

lol...I use a crappy, cheapo Compaq with a friggin Celeron processor running Vista OS, 3 GB of ram and a 5400 rpm drive.:D I do have it optimized and running clean tho. I have 8 inputs, and I have never hit a wall tracking them all at once even with multiple plugs running. I'd say, USB 2.0...

    Laptop crashes while recording

A quick search of the line6 forums makes it look like this is a driver issue with Win7/64bit. The quick fix is downloading the ASIO4ALL driver until they resolve the issue. http://line6.com/community/message/181973;jsessionid=CE62727F72DFF78D6F3DEC178716C715

    Mixing is HARD!

Outside ears are the bomb. Use them often. Also, I used to severely overmix projects....until I discovered my room was crap. Once I sorted that out, then mixes were much less problematical.

Home recording set-up - mainly synths

Easy way: Buy a simple, 2 channel interface that also supports midi such as the Tascam US122 or the like. Run all your keys into the mixer and sum to 2 channels to the interface and from there into Cubase. You would have the flexibility of recording them all at one time onto 2 tracks, or one...

    Multitrack Mixers/Interfaces

The Zoom R16 is a decent choice. It has 8 XLR/1/4" combo inputs and will stream 8 channels of audio to the daw of your choice. It has insertable FX and eq available and comes bundled with Cubase LE. It will also function as a 16 channel stand alone multitrack recorder. Ive had one for almost...

Sonar 8.3.1 bun file issue - HELP!

That's weird. I've never had that happen to me and I move .bun files all the time via flashdrive. Were the drum loops missing entirely?

Recording stereo or mono on keyboards ?

I'd say it really depends on the patch and what you intend for it to do in the soundfield. Writing a soft, ambient type of piece and using pads? Stereo...to take advantage of some of the stereo dependent info in the patch itself. Piano playing a prominent role? If the piano patch was sampled...

Question about hooking Microkorg to Larger Electric Pianos

If the polyphony is limited to 4, then nothing you are going to do will exceed that. Using the MK as a midi tone module is not playing to it's strengths by any stretch of the imagination. There's a ton of JV series modules with 64 voice polyphony out there for a pittance. Ebay is your friend.
