    check out nervedrive song

Vocals need a little work...the singer sent them to me over e-mail...so they aren't in the greatest of shape right now...and there is some annoying buzzing to get rid of up front....might be a bit over compressed too....thoughts would be appreciated! it picks up about 1/2 way through the song...

Bleed Reworked --- Feel free to hammer again

recorded Thanks Joel, This song actually has acid drums...the only song I've done doing them...and I'm going to try and work on them more tonight...maybe even change the swing of them. Also, I'm going to try and work the guitar chorus to have more of that 'sonic' energy you speak of. Simply...

Bleed Reworked --- Feel free to hammer again

keys I think the 'keys' your referring to are guitar notes....and understood...they were in the song...before the vocals were added....maybe I'll try to rework those with different notes... and your input is appreciated...and yes...this song....the only one I've done with looped beats has...

another song to check out please

positive? Well gee whiz...thanks folks...nice to hear something positive. I'll be posting the reworked song...without the keyboard stuff and lowered cymbals. Perhaps the keyboard stuff just needs to be a lot lower. Let me know if possible.

another song to check out please

I already got some feedback that the opening background music is too loud and drowns out the vocals...it doesn't happen on my speakers...so would love to hear comments about the mix and overall song....also...the cymbal crashes are a bit too loud i think. www.nervedrive.com/music/Bleed.mp3

    starting over...please listen

400MHZ Thanks JR....I have a few more I'll be posting soon. Since I play all the instruments for the song, it surely isn't a natural live sound, but I think the snare drum reverb effect I used helps with that, as does the creating a duplicate of the guitar track and then panning them left and...

    starting over...please listen

recorded with The intro was done using Acid, and everything else was recorded and mixed on my 400Mhz Computer if you can believe that. I have the gadget labs 8/24 so I can record 8 tracks at once. Usually, unless recording multiple instruments I only use multiple recording tracks for the drums...

music taste if anyone wants....let me know what you think of the songs in general as well...people usually think there own stuff is ok...since they hear it over....and over...so it would be great to hear just some song feedback. here is a direct link....for one of them...i think...

    Acid or Sound Forge

acid vs sf i agree with the above...i have acid and vegas audio, and i use acid for cool background stuff, but all recording...mixing...etc is in vegas. With vegas audio, i have no real need for Sound Forge, unless someone can tell me otherwise.

    Remove vocals?

remove vocals I don't think you can do it in sound forge. i believe there are software plug ins...or maybe just separate hardware components that allow you to do this sort of thing. But as the last person said...i believe its something they do with the eq....but i'm not positive of their methods.

    tell me if i suck

gator Definately not my style of music....however...it surely sucked me in. Nice job on eqing the bass and bass drum....and the bass guitar..was often right on the verge of destruction....but it held right onto the edge and that really grabbed me. ...nice guitar work too....a very indy...sorta...

    some tunes to check out

thanks Thanks Chris....thats odd...on both my fairly decent computer speakers and monitor speakers...as well as car stereo the vocals for bleed are right out front. If you play it with a leveled out flat eq....is it still bad for you? out of curiosity..what kind of speakers do you have...

Connecting Alesis M1 Active monitors to Alesis Studio 12R mixer

I'm wondering if my connection is endangering my monitor speakers. Currently I'm using the gadget labs wave 8/24 soundcard with my Alesis 12R mixer to record. Recently I purchased the Alesis M1 Active monitors. The monitor output on the 12R is +4dbu. The monitor manual says this is a balanced...

Hooking up Alesis M1 Active Mk2 Monitors to Alesis Studio 12R

I'm curious if my current hook up is ok, of if it will damage my monitor speakers. Currently I have a gadget labs wave 8/24 soundcard hooked up with the Alesis Studio 12R mixer. The monitor ouput is +4dbu. The active monitors manual says that this is a balanced signal and XLR cables are good...
