Before I go out and buy a bunch of balanced cable: If you are using short runs does it make any difference??????? Voltage or functionality is not compromised, correct? You just lose the extra ground?

I've actually done glue to mine. It did work but it's tricky and a drag. It's not a miracle worker though on the too far gone. For my regular records I just use the antistatic stuff and the record cleaner.
