    A little M-106 problem

I am having some bleed over from channel 3 to channel 4 on the Tascam M-106. I've tried everything I can think of, panning channels 3/4. Rehooking up each channel directly to the tape player and I'm still getting bleedover. I'm looking for ideas of things to try. Meanwhile, I have hooked up the...

Redneck Sound Studio- can garbage be your friend? (.....I'm needing ideas)

Alright..... I'm in a bit of a pickle.... I've got this pretty cool room you might have seen before.... The problem is, it is very echoey. Very very echoey!!!!f I woefully overestimated my budget to get it ready to record in by the month of February because my budget ends up being ZERO...

    The ultimate in analog

Well we bought a new house and we were out scrounging for furniture and I ran across this.... I thought it would make a cool nightstand and bought it for $35. I finally noticed this when I got it home. Now I'm wondering what it would take to get it going. It doesn't look all that tough...

    I don't want a studio....... I want Bradland....

This was kind of my original thought. I do like the idea of facing the windows though.(the dotted line is not a wall, just a imaginary line where I think the studio stops and the game room begins Is symmetry important for the sound waves (meaning should the monitors be centered in the room...

    I don't want a studio....... I want Bradland....

Gotcha.... We don't own the house yet, but we are under contract. Here's a couple of realty pics: Ir looks like the ceiling is about 8 foot high..... Also. the brick wall is against the living areas of the house. That could be a good insulator right?? Miro.... I brought up your studio for...

Hopefully this is the beginning of a very long thread. I am currently in the idea phase and thought I would come to y'all for help. Going Mobile Project

Ok.... the way I use it is lay down a bass track and drum track in GarageBand. Then to put it onto two tracks, I pan the bass hard right, and pan the drums hard left, then hook it up to the mixer with one of these. .....now..... onto your questions....

    Going Mobile Project

I think I have her hooked up right, but I have a couple of questions. With the setup below I attached compressor to the PGM insert jack. So using this setup, I should be able to use the compressor for both tracking and mixing as long I assign the track to PGM 2 buss, right? There are two...

    Going Mobile Project

Well.... I got to do little work on mounting the M-106. I took the rack rails that held the old mixer and used them as L brackets. I used em to screw the mixer to the top shelf of the rack. I'm thinking when we leave this house on wheels, I can raise the rack and use an adjustable height office...

    Mic preamps

I see some things on mic preamps here. Up until now, I've always plugged directly into the mixer. What are the advantages to using a preamp? If you do use one, are they mostly used on condenser mics??? I have an old M-Audio Audiobuddy that I used to plug my mics into when I used the computer...

I am not ashamed to say I listened to some punk bands in my day...... In the land of mid 80's rock ballads, I was still looking for some hard driving guitars... Well...... In my Ebay box when the Nanoverb arrived were three CD's from Junk Records :The Bulemics, New Wave Hookers, and The...
