Sales are changing multiple times today, the clock is running down from 37 minutes left on these 3 before the next round comes up. Might see something you wanted at a good price, I dunno. Here's the link if you want to check it out.

Stupid question regarding stereo input jack for DIY pedal...

Yes, that's correct - battery terminal goes to the "ring" connection on the stereo plug so that it doesn't make a connection unless a cable is plugged in to the input jack. Yep, I've got a standard wall wart PSU for boss/ibanez pedals (9v, negative ground) that I use for testing. The first...

Stupid question regarding stereo input jack for DIY pedal...

Probably stupid, I can't find an specific yea or nay on it though... Before thanksgiving I put together a treble boost kit from GGG and, upon plugging it in and powering it up, when the pedal was bypassed there was a signal to the amp. When the pedal was engaged the no signal passed through...

    Free Waves reverb today (11/27/2015)

Waves Trueverb is free today if anyone needs another reverb option. You can get it through the Waves website directly; not sure if 3rd party dealers are included in the promotion though. But hey, it's free anyway - no sense in looking for the best deal with that kind of price.

Vox AC15 on sale for $399 new at Sweetwater

Just saw this in my emails this morning; hell of a price for an AC15. Bought mine last year for $699...wish I would've had a working crystal ball! Not sure how long the promotion lasts...

    Capacitor polarity?

Apparently any polarity testing functions I though I had I ended up not having. Got a schematic and vague build instructions on an effects pedal I'm building - my second, I'm still wet behind the ears - and there are around 8 capacitors involved. The build instructions show the polarity of the...

What about DIY pedals? Any "trusted" resources for kits?

Cool deal. And yes, there were 1M resistors but they are now on the PCB. My lack of patience had me soldering up the components on the PCB tonight so I can finish it up tomorrow when the paint dries on the case. I went with the MXR dist+ build and that left me with 2 x 20k resistors and a...

FS mics: CAD TSM411 and MXL V69

Pics... The MXL V69: Here's the mic itself. Here's everything that comes with it inside the hard case...Mic, power supply, 6 pin cable (from PS to mic), shock mount and wind screen. The CAD TSM411: The mic itself, with the attached mic clip (can be removed) that comes with them. The box (if...

FS mics: CAD TSM411 and MXL V69

2 x CAD TSM411 dynamic mics need a good home. Got them a while back for drums that never got recorded (band no-call/no-showed). These are brand new in the box; I've had good experiences using them on both djembe and guitar amps - haven't tried them on anything else though (Bought 4, keeping...

What about DIY pedals? Any "trusted" resources for kits?

Tadpui's post about preamps got me thinking about shirking more of my household duties in favor of a fun project for once. I've become reacquainted with my soldering iron through my most recent guitar mods but it would be kind of cool to put a pedal between it and the amp that I had something...

Thinning out the herd...Amps & Guitars, a few of each up for grabs

Pedals are gone. Still have the gits and amps, they are going on consignment this weekend if nobody here wants them. Here they are! Fender Roadhouse Strat in Daphne blue; it's got Texas Special single coil pups with S1 switching that adds an active preamp. I've got 3 gits with the TX spec...

Guitar wiring issue? 3-way switch problem?

My first time messing with wiring inside of a guitar other than changing out a pickup or two. Wired up a 3-way switch (on/on/on) to a single DiMarzio Air Norton hb. The pickup sounds really good but it feeds back like crazy if there's even the slightest bit of overdrive on the amp. All the...

    Epi LP special II mod

It's finally done? Taking it to get it set up by someone more skilled than myself next weekend. Then it should be finally done. Maybe. Wired up a 3-way on/on/on switch to try it out and give myself a few different tonal options with a single pickup. This is the only pic I took during that...

Thinning out the herd...Amps & Guitars, a few of each up for grabs

Music room is too full, have a few things that don't get much use that need to be passed along to a loving home. Any/all would ship from central Indiana unless you are local and able to pick up. Guitars... 2013 Gibson SGJ, satin brown finish. It's a great guitar but doesn't get much...

    Epi LP special II mod

The tuners are officially installed - rushed and sloppy, but in and functional. All practice on this piece... :o 3-way on/on/on toggle switch is on order as of today (small town=no local source...boo!!!!!) and once that comes in this project should be ready to rock out on, zombie apocalypse...

Allparts customer service - anyone have any experience?

Since I got the neck in and everything was good enough (going to have the frets replaced for something a little different but it has a nice feel to it) I ordered some knobs for my Epi mod. The neck came in 2 days, the knobs...well...they're out there somewhere. They've been, according the the...

Tascam US600 - drivers and reboot problem under Windows 7

+1 to not "hibernating" - you can disable that easy enough though. Another thing to check that might make a difference (not sure though) is making sure your USB ports don't have power management enabled. That will at least make sure that your interface doesn't lose it's connection.

    Epi LP special II mod

Does this look like mahogany? Earlier I thought it could be maple but now, looking at it closer I can't tell. This is with the second coat of tru oil dried; I'm liking that stuff so far. A few more coats for good measure and then it's just a wait until the rest of the parts come in.

Having a techie brain fart, need some help

Well, I kind of forgot about this as I've been out of town more than at home the past few days... Pinky, just ran the test and this is what the results came back as... It's actually kind of irritating; I pay my provider a premium for their "best" internet package - supposed to be up to...
