i bought the audiophile 2496, and connected an edirol pcr50 keyboard controller to it. (i do the recording in cubase sx.1)
when i put the mic in, the asio latency with a high sample rate is 6 miliseconds.. thats great.
but when i try to play the keyboard realtime, it is still late. i try fruity...
i recorded some drums in a studio and i got them on an audio cd track by track.
i got different tracks on every right and left channel of every cd track.
so i import them, they fit into one channel, turning it into stereo, but i have to edit and mix them seperately. i have to divide the file...
i wrote some drums using FL, the i set it as a VST instrument, then playing it, i record the bass. but it always seem to be out of sync. i have to shift it to a direction everytime.
i use a tascam mixer, i plug into the line-in socket, and i plug the bass right into it.

i downloaded the NSKit sample drum sounds. i did it in wav format so i've got 14 different levels of snare sounds, 16 levels of hat sounds etc. all in different wav files.
as long as i'm using leafdrums (even though it is very practical) when i'm trying to do some partition with an increasing...
I just installed the SX and where are the damn R-L locators? and where are the midi patchname things which i have chosen the sounds! im havin a hard time getting used to it.
I got a drum builder around where I live. He is doing that for 30 years and I guess he is not still getting anywhere.
he builds all the parts by himself. I want to have something built by him, a smaller bass, a 10" tom and a picollo snare. But I am very uneasy with the process he is making. he...
here is what I have,
some sm57s, an sm58 and some sennheiser 825, 835 and 845s.
I can't get a decent kick sound. how should I place them.
by the way; I have an old tascam portastudio I use asa mixer-preamp. as you see, I'm too deeply stuck with bad equipment... how can I use it best?
I got 2 sm57's 1 sm58
and some sennheiser 825, 835 and 845's.
I got and old tascam portastudio, I use as a 6 channel mixer-preamp, then I record it on the computer in 2 channels. right one for the kick and left one for the rest.
I tried almost every possible thing and I cannot get a rich kick...
well I write some midi music on cubase then I add some vocals and guitars and whatever. but then, how do I export all of it into an mp3 or a wav file. the export function only works for audios...
I use Cubase on a very amateurish level. I want to know first some about those terms. I guess most of them are things that I do but don't know the name...
like what is the difference between sequencing and mastering? is playing with bass-mid-treble knobs called "equalizing" and what are the...
I can't afford a seperate microphone for the bass drum. I got some sm57s and 58s and some sehnnheisers dontknowwhat, but they are vocal mikes for sure. I want to record a good sound as possible of the kick drum with this equipment.
I place it to the mic hole, I place it right on the center...
I am posting too many threads I guess..
I've been going through the multi-channel soundcards at the "musiciansfriend" trying to figure out, which one might be fine for me.
and I saw some cards, saying 2 inputs and 8 outputs. it might be very amateur but I can't figure out, why I would need 8...
I'm trying to multitrack the drums into the computer for as cheap as possiple.
so I need some preamps before I plug any microphones.
let's say, I plug my old tascam porta-2(it has 4 channels 6 inputs) to the awe-something soundcard, pan some of the mics to the left and some to the right. (the...
Hi, i'm trying to record some drums.
My mixer is reaLLy crappy so when I mike the drumset and plug the line-out straight into the computer, I can never get a decent sound.
I wonder if there is a hardware to multitrack it right into cubase. Like the bass drum on 1st and snare on the 2nd channel...
