A good test of small condensers

Piano and maybe drums would be great IMO.

How do I set up ATMOS without spending a fortune? Cubase user.

Atmos for music would seem to be logically limited to high-profile artists due to the expense of the whole thing. I'm a big Colt fan and sure, Atmos is a very cool concept etc. but totally unrealistic for far too many artists to ever become THE standard format.

    Mix Help

Agree with @HumanPlanet. I'm not familiar with the original song, but arrangement-wise, I do think that experimentation with light percussion is warranted. You can always cut it out if it doesn't work!

    Raise a Glass

Stan Rogers vibes... Ooh, man do I like it! Mark's cello idea is really good if you ask me ;)

"The Wild Animals", test mix, please listen!

The others are probably better suited to commenting on this genre in general, but this mix sounds quite good to me!

"The Wild Animals", test mix, please listen!

Aww, I'm away from my detailed listening setup for a few days, but will check when I get back. Cheers!

"The Wild Animals", test mix, please listen!

Most obvious thing is the bass, which really is lacking punch IMO...

    Border of Love

Oh it's JJ Cale inspired, that makes sense now. I used to hear his music quite a bit some time ago... good vibes. Anyway, good luck going forward on this! Looking forward to any further developments.

    Border of Love

A bit of 2.5k peak in some places, to my ears? Nice song! Arrangement-wise, you could experiment with a percussion loop; very simple, cajon or bongo? just to add some texture to the recording.

Flea Market Find - Tascam 6100

Bro... I'm jealous! Nice stuff. I bet the LA-2As (genuine, yes?) weren't a flea market find though...

Wow, beautiful unit. Just got the IK emulator btw, wish I had the real thing!

Fleetwood Mac - "Dreams" - WTF is this, magic?!

OMG... So y'all are probably not wanting to put your ears through my falsetto voice ever again, and that's fine. But I recently bit the bullet on T-RackS 5 MAX, and decided to test-run my new baby on this project. The result is an entirely new mix on this project using ONLY IK Multimedia...

    Acoustic guitar distortion

I did something similar to @TalismanRich here, though not on the best headphones (tracking cans). FWIW!

    Acoustic guitar distortion

@Look out!R4XvW3 No distortion there, I think the mic is too close to the point of contact between pick and strings. It might sound like distortion because of the hearing problems, but I can't tell you for sure because I am blessed with perfect hearing. Try positioning the mic 1.5 feet away...

    Acoustic guitar distortion

@ecc83 click on the file, it will open in a new tab (on mac anyway); three dots on right side, "download" should be an option

Hand Me Down My Walking Cane

Beautiful... Fine guitar work there! No nits on my side other than both guitars sound a bit rolled off in the highs, particularly the player on the right.

Drag and drop into your HomeRecording post draft, it should upload

    Acoustic guitar distortion

Is there a gain setting on the interface? It may be a bit high? Make sure the fader in REAPER is at 0db and the meters are within that range when you set the gain. Compressors with acoustics are tricky, but giving it a go won't hurt :) Just looking up the Keeley now and no one seems to use it...
