It's a cool little pedal. I've heard it referred to as the poor mans tubescreamer but it gives a great sound as a booster.

So my electric tends to get that new string buzz when i dig into my strings unplugged. Could this be causing the extraneous noise I hear from my amp? I take it the buzz is detrimental, but is it common for electrics to be more nois?y

My Marshall AVT is making a weird noise...it sounds like something is loose inside it, and for whatever reason, when I play a 'C' note I get this sound like two glasses hitting off ecah other. I dunno what it is...it's not a big deal but it's a little annoying. And I don't wanna open the thing...

My friend was asking me about this, but I have no idea about rewiring pickups. Basically he swapped the bridge pickup in his mexi strat for a Seymour Duncan hot rail (stacked) and now the output with the single coils is greater than the duncans output. Was something installed wrong?
