Recording my V drums on Zoom R8 portable recorder

Oh by the way, my PA is just a single speaker multi instrument type thing but does the job well. I bought it for the drums and solo guitar and vocals. Would there be any benefit to hooking the drums up with a Y cable in the same fashion to the PA using 2 inputs? Would it be a better sound or no...

Recording my V drums on Zoom R8 portable recorder

Thanks so much for your help everybody. I am certain that is the problem. And the symptoms are exactly as described. Like there is a hole in the middle of the output sound if that makes sense. I've got my guitar bass and vocals sorted, no where to put the mics etc the drums are the last piece of...

Recording my V drums on Zoom R8 portable recorder

Going to try and get a Y cable tomorrow. Just not sure if they will be available where I live. It shouldn't be too hard to make one I guess. There will be two hot cables off the stereo jack.....one of each to the mono 1/4" plugs and all the grounds will be common?

Recording my V drums on Zoom R8 portable recorder

There is a midi out actually, never noticed it before. Not that I would want to record like that anyway...I really like the sound of this kit The symptoms you guys describe certainly sound like you hit the nail on the head. Like it is lacking in something or some of the drums distant. I noted...

Recording my V drums on Zoom R8 portable recorder

No its not the headphone out, but the "Output" jack. They are both 1/8" stereo so I guess they are basically the same thing. I will order a Y cable tomorrow hopefully I can find one. I'm in Thailand. I'm an electrician have a soldering iron, how would I wire that? I guess you are changing one...

Recording my V drums on Zoom R8 portable recorder

It is a HD3 so there is only one output 3mm stereo jack and headphone out. The sound from the headphones on the module is great, headphones from the R8 terrible. It does sound like you have hit the nail on the head though. Sounds pretty much like what I am getting. But why wouldn't I get the...

Recording my V drums on Zoom R8 portable recorder

Hi yall. Trying to record straight from my Roland V kit (using output from drum module) directly into the R8. Normally the sound of these drums through the PA or headphones excellent, very realistic. Seem to be getting a very boomy, reverby recording. The input levels seem to be fine, not...

BR600 not compatible with Windows 10

Its a Compact flash card actually and I have an email from Roland saying the files on the card are Bro format, Rolands own file system. They are converted to Wave during the export process. I may be able to use their wav converter program to convert the files off the CF card in a card reader...

    Zoom R8 questions

Need to replace my Boss BR600 as it is not compatible with Windows 10. I don't need anything super high tech, just something for a bit of on the fly recording with drum tracks and guitar effects. On the surface the R8 should do the job for me....A few questions... Has the R8 been out for a few...

BR600 not compatible with Windows 10

Not sure if you can convert into a wave file onboard. I think it converts to wave when you export the tracks. Maybe be a flaw in my plan to get files directly off the CF card if they are not wave. I did download that software which is compatible with Windows 10 but not sure if it converts from...

BR600 not compatible with Windows 10

Response from Roland was thus..... Thanks for contacting us. Due to the age of the product, the BR-600 is sadly not compatible with Windows 10 and there's not a workaround to allow compatibility unfortunately. An earlier version such as Windows 7 will need to be used. I have ordered a Card...

BR600 not compatible with Windows 10

I see you can buy adaptors to so you can put an SD card into a CF compact flash body. Maybe another solution too

BR600 not compatible with Windows 10

Just looking at one exactly the same now. I am living in Thailand and we have our own sort of Amazon lol. Will order and see how it goes. Only about $15 so not the end of the world if it doesn't

BR600 not compatible with Windows 10

I will have a look at that. Not even sure if something like that would be available anymore and not sure what format the files are in on the card or even if the card will be readable off Windows. Reader wont be expensive to buy on line. I might go and check it out. its the only reason I hook it...

BR600 not compatible with Windows 10

Pulled out my old Boss BR600, previously used it on an older Macbook. Recently got a new Windows 10 machine and it appears it is not compatible? Did a few google searches but just found a whole lot of people asking the same question with seemingly no solution. Anyone here know if there is a...

Recording Drum machine tracks to DAW

I am actually drummer, and I have a Roland E kit. Its probably easier just to record the drums live than tweak around for hours copying, quantizing and adjusting velocities on individual drums. You can plug the output of the E drums directly into the instrument input? When setting gain levels...

Setting up and monitoring using an audio interface into Cakewalk

I am just recording a test vocal. I thought I would get a sound on both sides of the earphones. If there is only mono recording that's fine too as long as I know. Obviously I have no clue feeling my way along here. As far as the sound module....like I said before I thought it was just a...

Setting up and monitoring using an audio interface into Cakewalk

Sorry for my stupid questions. I am probably missing the basics here. I thought the interface was to convert an analogue signal to a computer compatible digital signal? I can connect speakers or headphones to the Solo. I just thought the finished sound would be coming from the computer end. I...

Setting up and monitoring using an audio interface into Cakewalk

The Solo has RCA outputs, and I can plug into it with my head phones, but I'd prefer the sound to be coming via the computer. Maybe it doesn't work like that? There is no BT on the Solo
