The SHOCKING Behringer NEVE 1073 Preamp

Was going to say the same thing: Think "Warm Audio" (disclosure: I own a bunch of Warm gear - and am quite happy with it)

New song: Get It Out. (Accidental ska song!)

I like this. Nice vibe. With some tweaks - you're on to something here. :thumbs up:

    Syncing tracks

Is there some sort of reference point(s) between the two recordings? Assuming there is - seems like you should be able to edit one of the two - even in pieces - to line up with the other and compensate for drift. ???

Vocal Practice - Weekly Accountability Thread

Excellent. Thanks for posting. A constructive regimen is not only useful for singing - but for all sorts of pursuits. :thumbs up:

Using stretch markers in Reaper to fix bad drum timing issues

I'm now actively using both. Combing the split-slide/slip editing with stretch markers where appropriate. Loving this power to fix errors in feel and timing.

Reamp experiment that turned out well

This was the only guitar track - and it was a new track being added to vocal, bass, and drum stems from 15 years ago. So - no. But I have processed the vocals and bass through outboard compressors - which really helped with those. :thumbs up:

Thanks - with your feedback and other's elsewhere - ima work on this and bring it back later.

Reamp experiment that turned out well

Not exactly sure what you mean, what you're asking. But I can say for sure that this little success will cause me to explore this method for single guitar tracks much more in the future.

    In the Garden

(**I've pulled this one to work on it some more) I'm looking for mix advice: relative levels, EQ, compression, anything glaring, etc. Thank you in advance.:-) This is all humans playing real instruments - :thumbs up: The vocals, drums, and bass were all crudely recorded about 15 years ago...

Reamp experiment that turned out well

The first one is obviously the DI track - the second clip is the one after running the first one through two different amp settings (in this case it's a strat in the 2nd position and sent through the UA Lion Marshall super lead - each one set somewhat differently tone/gain wise) - and then sent...

Reamp experiment that turned out well

Here's a "recording technique". Tried for the first time. Sailing into uncharted territory. I'm working with these old raw tracks from a recording session with my band from many years ago. Trying to put lipstick on a pig -- so to speak. It's been a long process so far for just one tune -...

Looking for Class B tube preamplifier or amplifier, how many can you remember?

Those were really cool amps! I never owned one but wanted one bad when I was in HS.

I hope it's ok that I make this point

    Absolutely. :thumbs up:

Simple question: How many dB to record at?

That's interesting to me. What you two are discussing, pointing out. I can relate. Heavily. In this sense.... I've always done what I do for a living. Professionally- I'm a blue collar tradesman who went to school and got my first job doing what I do right after my 19th bday. Because of the...

    Dedicated DAW Laptop

I didn't have any noise to begin with as I've been using the Tascam DP-32SD which records to SD card - dead silent. The new Gem 12 (this is the exact package that I bought) - has a fan - but I can't hear it. At all. Unless a lean over and put my ear right up to it. The package model/unit I've...

Using stretch markers in Reaper to fix bad drum timing issues

Amazing. The coolest thing about this is that you can correct bad timing issues surgically and without screwing up the feel. You can manually quantize - and do it exactly to your liking. F'n bitchen. I didn't know. Until I knew. Which was today.
