Is this microphone good enough for recording male vocals?

Fair. I'd still be leery of intentionally chopping off frequencies on the human voice in particular. Of all the instruments, that's the one our ears are most fine-tuned to detect weirdness about.

Allow me to show off my 100 year old guitar!

I could see pulling it off for the aesthetics or if you want the guitar to be more "correct", but I'd be super leery of damaging it too!

Is this microphone good enough for recording male vocals?

I've always read closer to 20-20k Hz You can't sing a note anywhere in the 15kHz range, no; but there are overtones that will get lost. (Of course, this gets into the common debate of "should you HPF/LPF everything?" which I'm pretty firmly on the "no" side of)

Allow me to show off my 100 year old guitar!

Pretty! Is the white patch some kind of after-market pick guard?

    Linux?

Live performance and some batch audio processing, but not recording, no.

    Invaders From Uranus

Thanks for the bump. I didn't even see the notification from the previous one. Drums are definitely better. It's a much brighter mix overall. I might still push the vox back a little further. e.g. maybe just a little more forward than they are at the interlude around 1:55?

Is this microphone good enough for recording male vocals?

Straight up, looking at the specs, no. The response range on this mic is 40 to 16,000 Hz, which means that you're losing out on a fair portion of the audio spectrum. Small diaphragm condensers (SDC) like this are generally not the best mics for vocals regardless. Plus, as others have said...

Starchaser. Rock song by The Story of the Sun

I'm in a meeting now, so can't listen, but what have you changed since the last time you posted this song?

    Laptop recommendation for live performance

Theoretically, you might be able to pull it off with a Raspberry Pi. I'm not sure about specific app support (konkat, etc), but it would be an incredibly portable solution if you could get it working.

    Help with panning in Reaper

Is there something wrong with your monitoring chain maybe? e.g. is there interference on your headphone cable? Is your OS doing any audio processing? A lot of times, Windows et al will add some reverb and other stereo effects to on-board audio. Do you see the meters on the channel showing a...

Tips on Making Heavy Rock Sound

Maybe see if you can get @Bulls Hit 's attention (and check out his threads in the clinic). This sounds a lot like his style.

Tips on Making Heavy Rock Sound

If you want a rock sound, you're probably going to want at least some analog instruments: replace one or more of the synths with guitars, or use a more realistic sounding drum machine.

The new notifications system is all janky, so you may want to quote one of my posts so I see it.

    DAW build 2021

I do hate having to buy new power supplies and cases. I suspect on my next PC purchase, I'll really resent the old, functioning ones.

    AT2020 X SM57 on Acoustic Guitar.

An LDC vs a dynamic really is an apples to oranges comparison. Obviously, it's good to know which you prefer in general, but I'd recommend A/Bing some more similar mics to listen for those nuances.

How do they get this vocal sound?

There's definitely a long reverb tail on her. If I were going for this effect, I'd opt for a big stack of vocals (make sure they're tight). Probably HPF all of it. Then send it to a reverb bus turned to a pretty moderate volume. It helps that she has a very pretty voice in general. I'm...

Recording Drum machine tracks to DAW

Oh yes! That's almost certainly your best option. Send the e-kit to midi; send the midi to a VSTi drum kit

Recording Drum machine tracks to DAW

    A) Yeah, almost any VSTi drum program (like EZ-Drummer) will include a midi pack with pre-sequenced beats to use. B) Yeah, that should work pretty much how you described it.
