Thoughts on vocal tuning/heavy editing and an interesting analogy (I think)

Thankfully we have the guy from "wings of pegasus" to show all the pitch corrected performances happening today!

Another 'awkward' chinese mic - and something new?

I heard on this morning's news that the Hong Kong post office is no longer sending packages to the US. First class letters and documents will still be sent, but it probably will affect shipments from TEMU, ALIExpress and other Chinese online marketplaces.

    Markers and labels

You can add marks while recording with the H6. Its on Pages 22-23 of the manual. There's a button on the side that you press. If you press pause, it also adds a mark.

Guess what happened to me in December? UFO's Drones..just hear me pics video

Do you guys live under rocks? She's a singer/songwriter. She's been around for about 20 years, had several #1 songs, did a half time show at the Superbowl years ago. It's not the type of music I listen to, but she has a pretty good voice. She was one of the judges on American Idol for...

Plautus, Did you read the post?

    which frequency analyzer to use?

You have to play something to get any analysis. You can't analyze silence. Put a track in your DAW and hit play. You'll see a cumulative data curve as well as the instantaneous information. You can put some white noise on the track which is simply noise with sound with the same level...

    which frequency analyzer to use?

I don't have a clue how you are using your Equalizer plugin, but if you are using a DAW, then you can put in your VST EQ plugin, then add the BlueCat Frequency Analyzer. As long at the analyzer comes after the EQ, it will show what effect your adjustments make...

Audacity/OBS does not "recognise" a mic.... Running out of options on what to do next...

One could use Reaper or another DAW to determine if the interface and microphone are actually working correctly. That would be my first step. If the hardware is working properly, the it has to be in the driver / program settings.

Audacity/OBS does not "recognise" a mic.... Running out of options on what to do next...

First of all, the Beta 58A is a dynamic mic. 48V phantom power is not needed, and does nothing to make the mic work. 48V is needed by condenser mics to operate the active circuitry in the mic. What driver is being used with the ID4? If the Audient ASIO driver has been installed, then...

Trainwreck of a music video on youtube

A few months back, my friends and I were playing a song for the first time. Both the bassist and I pulled down recordings from Youtube to work things out, but it turns out that each was in a different key. We started playing and it was one of those WTF moments. "What key are you in? C...

Inspired by John The Evangelist for Easter

Ok, there's another of those "buzz words" that get thrown around. Sterile! Can you explain what you mean by "sterile sounding"? As in every voice is perfectly on cue and on key? I've heard choirs with excellent singers, and a good conductor that sounded very much like that. It...

It's a darn good thing that the aliens observe the Federation's Prime Directive not to interfere with primitive societies, right? I'll believe it when they transport down from the mother ship to my backyard..

    TELE NECK WORK ADVICE

I would have leveled the frets first, then polish, and do the fret edges last. I don't know if makes a big difference, but you don't want to have to go back after you do the leveling and crowning.

    Reel to Reel wiring

The few mono versions of the BSR TD2 had both microphone and aux inputs. I'm guessing Curtis Mathes had a special cable, maybe DIN, to go from the turntable and tuner to the tape deck. That was a common occurance. My brother had a Sears console stereo and it had "aux out" connections for a...

I bought a crazily cheap 'Neumann' TLM103 and it's really decent!

At attractive as the price was, I've got a half dozen LDC and 5 pairs of SDC, and a eight dynamic mics. I really don't need another one, even at that price.

"Wake Up" - New Acid Techno Track

I guess that's my question.... why does everyone do the same thing? In the past couple of weeks, both you and Extra Terrestrial have posted several songs, and to be honest, they could be pasted together and I doubt that many people would realize they were different songs. Zypheris...

    Reel to Reel wiring

I had no luck finding info on the connections. The only BSR tape deck I could a manual for was the TD-1020 stereo deck and it has conventional RCA input and output jacks. Is the one you have a stereo deck or a mono deck? The manual is on the HiFi Engine website for the 1020.

"Wake Up" - New Acid Techno Track

I'm curious as to why every song you do has the same timing (around 110-120BPM) and the Thump Thump Thump fake kick drum. I noticed something similar when I was in Las Vegas last year poolside and they had a DJ playing music. EVERY song was the same. Thumping fake kick drum at around...

It's been 2 1/2 months since the OP was here. His thesis was due in 2 weeks back in January. I wonder how things worked out for him.
