I'm using Zoom H6 to record narrated memoirs. Sometimes I tend to drag on in a "stream of consciousness" that crosses from one topic to the next. I'd like to distinguish these separate "chapters" by leaving a mark or label on the recorded track without disrupting the flow of the narration. Using the H6, is it possible to set markers or labels "on the fly" that makes it easy to find these separate chapters during playback, and for editing later in Audacity? Thanks. - Bob

You could work it like an old answering machine, separating messages with a beep.
Perhaps record your naration on one track, and the beeps on the other.

Like @Slouching Raymond says there is. no elegant way to set markers that I know of - could you record to Audacity to begin with? Setting markers is easy as pie in Audacity.

You can add marks while recording with the H6. Its on Pages 22-23 of the manual. There's a button on the side that you press.

If you press pause, it also adds a mark.
