New to Computer Recording (Advice Needed)

:D Well, I should have said that I would be willing to spend more if I absolutely NEED to (for example, if the preamps on the Firebox, Omega, etc. are utter awful and should be avoided at all costs). Otherwise, if they would be fine for my needs now, I would rather not spend more than I have to.

New to Computer Recording (Advice Needed)

I'm an avid guitarist, but I've never been able to record clips of myself. As a result, I've recently had the urge to start a home recording project. However, I'm not really sure as to what I need to get. I have a guitar amp that I need to record and a bass that I can DI (and possibly a MIDI...

I want to record on the computer...help needed

Hello guys, I'm a serious musician who wants to start recording. My dad used to be an active musician , and he recorded alot back in the 70's/80's. Because of this, I am fortunate to start off with some OK/decent gear, such as two SM57's. He's taught me about mic placement, etc. However, he is...

    What can i overclock to?

^ Use an app like Speedfan or something similar. If you have sufficient cooling and you test your new speed for stability with Prime95 Blend, you should be OK for normal everyday use. I have a 3700+ San Diego clocked at 2600MHz stable. But I also use a Thermalright XP-90 with a 92mm Panaflo...

Will this setup work for me?

Well, I don't want to get into it seriously yet, but I want to at least get something I can later use if I ever wanted to get a big mixing board. So for that very reason, I might end up going with a simple mic to interface solution for now (like M-Audio FireWire 410, Line 6 Toneport, etc) ...

Will this setup work for me?

What if I only need to record one track at a time? Wouldn't that money put towards that mixer be better spent on software?

Will this setup work for me?

Hey guys, I'm a guitar player, and I'm planning to getting into this whole home recording thing. However, I am rather lost as to what I need to get. However, I DO know that I want to go with the micing my amp route. So I was thinking at first this setup - mic > mixer > line-in of soundcard...
