Thanks! I did get it working finally. Don't know what exactly the problem was, but I installed the ProTools update for PT9 and restarted the computer and it worked!
OK, so I hadn't done any recording for nearly a year, but I decided to setup again on Saturday. I got things hooked up and recorded a little test but I can't hear any playback at all. I assume it's probably the simplest little setting that I've missed, but I just can't figure it out. I'm using a...

Steenamaroo, your fix does clean up the audio slightly, only I was hoping to achieve a cleaner sound than that yet. Of course if it just can't be done I'll have to settle for...
So I got a great narrator to narrate an audiobook for me. Now I'm realizing that the quality of the recording is far from perfect. I have attached a sample below of the raw audio with just a slight expander applied. You'll notice that the sound is somewhat muffled, exaggerating the airy sounds...
Hope you'll have had a great Christmas! I just completed an acapella multitrack song and I'd like to have an unbiased ear do the final mixing and mastering. I have completed pitch correct and alignment for the most part, but no eq, compression, or efx have been added. I probably have the tools...
Thanks! It has a more smooth, pro sound! I'm learning that my voice over doesn't need as much fx as I originally thought. My mic is a lewitt ltc540 and it is very fat, warm sound to begin with so it doesn't even require much eq.
I'm just getting started on an audiobook project. Here is a short test I recorded and I'd like to have an unbiased ear add the final EQ, compression, etc just to get anothers' perspective. I know it's simple stuff, but I'm still getting started and haven't developed the ear for a good voiceover...
I actually used the 10.7 installer and it works great! Also contacted the guy I bought Pro Tools from and he said he was using it on Mavericks as well.
I just got my first Mac and Pro Tools 9 and I'm afraid I'm running into compatibility problems. My Mac runs both Windows 8 and OSX 10.9 Mavericks. However, in my Avid account I only see PT9 installers for OSX 10.6 and 10.7, and Windows 7. Is my computer a too far ahead of the game for Pro Tools 9?
I'm thinking of setting up to record voice over in a more professional way. I've kindof picked out the Focusrite ISA One for a preamp, but I'd consider other options in a similar price level. For a mic, I've been looking at the Lewitt LCT540 or Blue Baby Bottle. I think a very 'warm' sounding...
Am I correct that if I purchase a Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 or MOTU 896(both have biult-in preamps) I can then add a better preamp as finances allow (Focusrite ISA428 for instance) and can get the added sound quality of the outboard preamp while still using same interface?
