SM57 is not a very good mic for micing metal guitars imo. I prefer MD421 or AKG D112, they are a bit smoother and less grainier. And whatever you do don't point the mic to the center of the cone. :) Keijo

A 32 channel full in-line mixer (built to work with 24 track Otari), with valley people channel strips and preamps, valley people EQ's on 25 channels and 4 valley people compressors (that can be routed anywhere). A lot of bells and whistles and it all works. Only 3 built in the world.... is worth.

yeah I agree with sabbath, the last bass note sounds off, and it needs more power in the "chorus" part. Sounds intersesting tho, the piano is pretty freaky.

Yes, one track recorded with the sb is not too bad, but when you record 24 tracks, the hiss gets really loud on quiet passages. Believe me I tried. I had to use noise reduction to get usable quality. And I agree that there is no audible difference between 24 and 16 bit recording, but recording...

Ofcourse you can get decent recordings on SB live "evil BS" ;) (I used it for 4 years on local bands recording demos) but if you don't hear the hiss and the fact that the lows sound slightly crappier after the SB converters than straight from the board you need better monitors. There is a...
