I know that my subject sounds impossible, and it is...but I'm looking for a pair of small diaphragm condensors (cardioid) that can produce a similar flavor to the 4011's in a budget of $500-700.
The application will mainly be acoustic guitar. I've enjoyed the sounds of those who have used...
everytime I record snare, it seems to have a 'hollow overtoney' sort of sound, rather than a nice textured or snappy sound. This is no matter what snare I'm recording. How can I avoid this? thanks.
Hello once again,
I'm ditching my Digi002 Pro Tools setup, and expanding the studio a bit. I'll be doing no MIDI work, only audio input/output. I'm looking for a program, or set of programs that would be ideal for my use. I know a lot of these multitracking programs specialize in MIDI, but...
I'm in a bind, and figure there's some smarties on here who have recording experience and can perhaps work me through this issue.
Currently working with a digi002, I have 8 simultaneous channels available. This records at 24/96. I'm wanting to record 16 channels at once, so I looked into the...
I'd like to hear from those who have experience with the Studio Projects T3 on other applications outside of the vocal realm....Acoustic and electric guitar particularly. I'd appreciate any comparisons to other similarly ranged tube condensers (Rode K2, etc).
thanks
I've got a question concerning vocal mic orientation. I've noticed that in every studio I've seen the vocal mic is always placed upside down similar to an overhead drum mic. What is the reason and/or advantage of having the vocal mic upside down in this manner? Is it bad to have it standing up?
Hello,
I'm looking for a tube 2 channel strip for near $1000. I don't want an unuseable tube (like the dbx unit for $600). My main areas of interest are in the preamp and the EQ over the compressor that tends to come with channel strips.
Thanks
Selling off a '65 Fender Super Reverb Reissue that has only been around for 4-5 months, and had nothing but studio use. Comes with a new set of tubes, as well as an extra copper cap SS rectifier built for the Super in case you want the option of stiffening the sag.

I'm looking for some mic suggestions, particularly large condensors, for my new amp. It's got the JTM45 trannies, so it's pretty harmonically rich. I'm mostly a clean player, and in my Fender using days, the Shure SM57 did me fine, but now with this new amp I want something that captures the...
I'm saddened to see this go, being that it's an amazing secret weapon in the studio, but I'm concentrating on a live rig, and need money for my new amp. You can read all about the UAD-1 on mackie's website. I need to sell it ASAP to pay for the new live rig, so I'm only asking $420 + shipping.
