    Record scratch rap

understood Appreciate the feedback guys. And I can totally understand why some guys might be offended by the use of samples in a song. I've been a guitarist now for about 20 years and the thought of people replacing a guitar segment in a song with a sample instead of a real musician might be...

    Record scratch rap

Many thanks spinsterwun, I'll give those a try. I can't help notice a contradiction in your question tazkatraz. You suggest I go out with a bundle load of audio gear and record a guy doing record scratches (ie. sample his work) instead of downloading a variety of samples from work produced by...

how do you write your songs?

I second the sentiments of smirky. To add to this , listening to a radio from a long distance is also cool because you hear the song diiferently. Some new frequencies you might not of heard close up and also your imagination fills in the blank spots - hey presto ... new song. I also agree that...

cubase audio moves out of sync

A similar thing happened to me with my first version of Cubase. I think it was Cubase 3. I talkedd to my dealer and upgraded from the net. The upgrade got rid of the problem. Is your Cubase an old version, and have you upgraded recently?

    should I get a compressor

I also think a compressor would be good in this application. Try and get one with a limiter perhaps, which will be particularly good for keeping a roof over this guys screams. This will save the congregations ears. Many compressors have this combination of : compressor, limiter, and noise gate...

    Problems with Ricoh r/rw

Thanks NL. Maybe mine is a bit faulty, The warranty is still good so I might talk to my dealer. By the way "Red book" is just a term that's used for audio that plays on a CD player. By the sounds of your answer - yours can do this quite well. Thanks again.

    Looking to buy some software...

go the cubase Cubase is great. It's apparently the most popular audio software in the world. Users of Nuendo really seem happy, but I've yet to hear from one who has also used Cubase. If you want to be confused further:Soundscape Mixtreme is great. It combines hardware and software. Another...

    Problems with Ricoh r/rw

I recently bought a Ricoh R/RW (MP7060S). It does a fine job burining data and wave files, but it does a horrible job burning red book (The result is a lot of audio breakup) , even when I'm using a standard Recordable CD. Luckilly I kept my old Sony (recordable only , not RW) and have kept using...

Ready to spend my life savings on a new home recording system!!

Bob, when I started with PC recording I was also totally new to midi. It was a huge learning curve. I used Cubase and I can reccomendt it. My understanding is that Nuendo is more for film and video and might not be so versatile with midi editing. This might be important if midi is something you...

    FUCK FUCK FUCK IM CONFUSED

I've been using a mosvalve tube works power amp with real tube pre amp. It uses 12AX7 tubes. I've recently bought the POD though and I have to say, it is INCREDIBLE. In many ways better than the sound I was getting with my real amp. Admittedly I haven't recorded with it yet. Also the 12 AX7...
