The CD is finished...MR-8 at its best

I haven't listented to it yet, though I definitely plan on it...I've been demoing some stuff on my MR-8 and can't decide whether to do the "real" recording on it as well (mostly acoustic guitar, pennywhistle and fiddle)... Did you mix/master on the MR-8 or did you do that on a PC?

    Can't read flash card

wav manager only imports tracks 1-8, but not any stereo wavs you may create on the MR8. I simply recorded something on track 1, bounced to 7/8 (two mono tracks) and then I created a stereo wav file w/ reverb and mastering. wav manager doesn't see the stereo wav file (it's in a sub directory)...

    Can't read flash card

Must have been win98...it worked fine on win2k. Unless I missed something, I can only get tracks 1-8 via wav manager. I had to use windows explorer to get the stereo wav.

    Can't read flash card

Thanks Dave. I assumed that I could grab the files directly from a card reader. Never the less, I downloaded the wav manager and it doesn't recognize my card reader either (disk F:). I just did one simple keyboard track and then bounced track 1 over to 7/8 with the 'mastering' effect and then...

    Can't read flash card

Just got a MR8 and did my first recording. Bounced to 7/8 and converted to stereo wav. Now I want to get the wav file to my PC. Didn't have a USB cable at home for my Win2K laptop, so I decided to try and read the card through a card reader I have on my win98 desktop. I keep getting "device not...

    problem importing midi

Mojew, When you say mashed together, do you mean that all the notes keep sustaining until you've got dozens of sounds playing together? Just curious...my stepdad has the same problem importing in cakewalk and I've wondered what caused it. He lives in a different city and I haven't been able to...

Do you really buy that expensive recording software?

Thanks. I was running RH 7 on an old laptop and I had a lot of trouble getting a few things to run. I just recently got a new laptop and Fedora core 1, so I'll check it out.

Do you really buy that expensive recording software?

What software do you use on Linux? I dual-boot win2k and Fedora, but the only audio software I use on Linux is CDParanoia Csound, and Audacity (Csound and Audacity both run on Mac and PC too). I haven't looked for a while...is there anything like N-Tracks, Sonar, Acid or FruityLoops that runs...

    Stereo vs Mono

Thanks... I'm going to upgrade my digital piano before I record. I don't hear much L-R spread when I run the stereo out w/o DSP, but this is a cheaper piano. Granted, I haven't looked, but is there any information (websites, etc) on recording acoustic piano? I'd basically like to simulate that...

    Stereo vs Mono

I'm just starting to record at home. I am doing a solo piano thing and I'll be using a digital piano. Note...there are no other instruments or tracks, just the one keyboard track (I'm guessing in a band situation you'd record the keyboard in mono since you'd have several instruments to pan). Is...

    VF80/mic/preamp help

Thanks slide_blues! I ordered a pair of MXL603s yesterday, but I'm still figuring out what I'm going to do otherwise. Truthfully, at the moment I leaning towards the DMP-3 and the MR8, since the majority of what I'll be doing is solo acoustic. Right now I'm setting up Sonar on a laptop and...

    VF80/mic/preamp help

Thanks all... Yeah, I've heard one of the posted songs and thought it sounded very good. Hmmm, last night (after having to buy both a new dishwasher and a clothes dryer) I almost talked myself back into the MR8. I have to remind myself that I don't have to get it all now, just enough to have...

    VF80/mic/preamp help

Hi All, I had been contemplating buying a MR8 (I'm on a tight budget, but who isn't), but after reading the archives in this board as well as the MR8 manual, I decided that I needed a little more, but still something in the budget range. Hence, I'm now considering the VF80. First things first...
