You could check out the Argosy specs on their website - I believe they post them all, somewhere. If you can't find them on the site, then sign up to receive their brochures (which sure is something to drool over) - the back of their brochures contain the dimensions and such. Beyond that, you'd...
Sorry Joe, could you elaborate on how the Drumagog thing works. I've heard some rave about it, and it seems promising. I play mostly faster stuff (e.g. yes, metal) but still incorporate a good amount of dynamics in my playing. So the direct output of the drum trigger would go into a recorder and...
Heyas, resurrecting an older thread here!
I want to trigger my kick drum (and possibly others later) for recording purposes only. I don't want to go all out here, and am only looking to get a midi signal into Sonar. Reading this thread, if I go ahead and buy this...
I had an older premier set, used the hair dryer/heat gun method to melt the glue around the seams. Get the wrap off using this method, then use paint thinner to remove the excess glue around the shells. My shells were mahogany, and I stained them yellow. They ended up looking great.
If you hit hard, I'd suggest going with a Remo Emperor X (medium-tight tension). With proper tuning (duh!), and a decent resonant (settle for a coated Ambassador, medium-low tension), you'll have yourself rocking in no time!
Oooooh, if only I had my Shure 81 overheads, I'd record this for you. :)
Too bad!
Anyhow, good luck with the whole situation. I think my girlfriend of 2 years wants to dump me too! :-p
I have a Toshiba p-25. Nice machine, too heavy, too big (17 inch widescreen). The power connector in the rear came loose and put me through a week of headaches and a new power adapter before I figured out it was the internal connection, which I had to resolder. Anyway, once that was fixed I...
Hmm okay, I thought I would have needed those little adapters with the transformers in them to convert from XLR to line signal. Anyway, if going the Echo route, I'd need an ADAT card in my pci to accept the signal. Would any simple adat card do, or do some do the job better than others? Do you...
The Echo seems pretty good, but I'd need analog inputs, and I'd like it to be rack-mountable. I know I could just buy converters, but I'd rather keep the signal cleaner. Anyway, thanks for the input. Seems I'll have to save up $2,000. Maybe in the meantime someone will come out with something...
Hey Andy, thanks for the reply.
I was checking this out, and am pretty sure it is the same as any other digital converter. I am only paying for the conversion. The output interface (whether it be adat, serial, sp/dif, etc) doesn't matter to me. The converters on the Behringer, I am assuming...
I was suspecting that would be the answer. Only thing is if I buy some sort of interface, I'd pretty much only be buying for the converters, and any decent standalone converters are pretty expensive. Anyway, thanks. I'll start saving. :)

I'm currently working on some preamps I've began constructing, and I had figured I'd need to buy a good DAC sometime soon. I was looking into this, and I wanted something reliable and of good quality - such as the Lynx 8-channel solution, but for $2,000, I began to think again. The interface for...
