    The 1.5 Hour Challenge

Sorry, too little time, too many rules. (no presets? PLEASE!) Besides, just because you have the talent to multi-track anything in less than an hour doesn't mean anyone else can. :) I can't even load my samplers, init my template, adjust my mixer, find the frickin mic, clean up all the drinks...

    Imaginary Lover

wow... EXCELLENT! I'm most interested in how you recorded the vocals, obviously a little more than plugging in a mic. :) Sounds like you're doing some slight doubling of the vocal tracks. Could you PLEASE oh PLEASE describe in detail exactly how you recorded the vocals? The more detail the...

    Creed, You Suck

wow, a total waste of the band's time and talent. It will never get air time, no one would ever "pay" for this. Sure, it might be a fun song to play live as a filler, but otherwise why spend so much time and energy on this? It can go nowhere. Creed is a very good band, so what if they are...

    Vocal techniques of singers

Hello, Could you guys talk about the vocal techniques of the following singers? Each has their own style of singing, (from nasal to high clear notes). And I was curious if there was a "method" or "style" they are using to get their sound. Sorry, I don't know the names of most of the singers in...

How to stop blowing your voice out!

Thanks for the comments. Interesting, I'm a big guy, and there a ton of very heavy, out of shape singers that can sing all night, so I don't agree about the being a runner or swimmer thing. BUT I agree any excersize is good for the body and could only help overall. I took voice lessons in my...

How to stop blowing your voice out!

Lately when I sing, I warm up for a while, and then my range is good for about an hour, then things start to get rough. Hard to reach the high notes, etc. Is there any special liquid I should be sipping to coat my throat between songs? Any ideas, tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

    I give up

When wearing headphones, try only wearing one headphone, leaving one ear to hear your live voice. Alot of singers use this technique in the studio. It should help your pitch problem. As far as your vocals go, they're fine, you do however need to get control of your vibrato. Only use it at the...

    Various drum playing questions.

Thanks for the comments, it's been a long time since I was in a cover band, I'm actually a vocalist but as something fun to do other than singing, I joined this cover band, they have no idea I can sing, anyway, agreed warm up and stretching is important and it looks I need to go back to the...

    Various drum playing questions.

    1) I'm jammin in a cover band, we will be playing 40 songs a night. My fingers sometimes become "numb" and stiff. Any tips to avoid this from happening? 2) Trying to improve my bass drum skills. I find myself playing with the top part of the foot or toe, and not the whole foot. Is this good or...

    listen to my track--any good..or shite..lemme know,link inside-->

Hi, The production is fine. The music is fine. I'm just confused "who" the listener would be for this kind of music. It's not really pop dance so it wouldn't work on the radio. It might work as background music in a movie, but otherwise just nothing is really grabbing my attention. I'm not...

    2nd Original Song By Tukkis

"You hired a 17 year kid from a local school to lay down some guitar tracks for you and it didn't work out. You should have just hired a good guitarist." I don't want to drift any further from this topic anymore, it's not fair to Tukkis. BUT, I will say this, I saw the guitarist play and...

Is there any better way to promote on the net then

Hmm.. your band sounds very good. Perhaps a but too much like Stone Temple Pilots, at least in the singing. But still, you guys rock! Marketing wise, you're in the same boat as the rest of us. Once you put your music on the net, no big label is going to touch you. You may get an indie label to...

    2nd Original Song By Tukkis

"He who can play by ear will always be light years ahead of he who needs to read music. " Not quite sure what you mean there, are you saying someone who reads music can't improvise or "jam"? Dead wrong there. I'll give you a recent example of something "interesting". I hired a 17 year kid from...
