That's the one I bought!! I was pleasantly surprised with the voice right out of the case when I first played it. Now she's opening up and showing me what she's really got!! Damn right you're jealous!! Ha Ha

They sound great. It's not as much harder to play them as you might think. These guitars are designed to handle the stress. The guys that played them wanted to be heard over the horns in big bands back in the thirties and forties.

    My photography insults it

For the short haul I'll probably set it up with phosphor bronze 14s. I'll need it to be able to fake it as a flattop for a few of the songs the band does. Flats suck for that. Have you tried the Kent Armstrong Handwound P-90 pickup? I'm thinking that might be the ticket. I should put flats on...

Just got it. Plays great. Good strong voice. So I suck at photography. It's going to get a new pickguard and pickup. The Gibson BJB it's got now doesn't like bronze strings, but as an acoustic it's definitely a keeper.

1963 Martin 000-28 - help me out here

I'm thinking more like $7,500 - $8,500 with the top end for an extremely clean example. It might have pushed $10K a couple of years ago.

    G&L guitars

I've got an ASAT Jr. and an '80s S-500. The ASAT gets more playing time than the rest of my electrics combined. I'm a big fan. Both my G&Ls are USA made but I've played a reasonable number of Tributes and was quite satisfied with the build quality. The Tributes get (or at least used to get) the...

    Peavey Classic 30

I have had a Classic 30 for years. It's been through a lot, even a house fire. Still works fine. Peavey makes tough stuff. I agree about the fizzy pre-amp distortion. You can help that a bunch by swapping out the pre-amp tubes for better ones. The re-issue Tung-Sols are fine. JJ makes a tube it...

    Amp Recommendations?

Tech 21 does a good job with solid state amps. You might want to give them a look.

New guitar for Greg - Kapow! (lots of pics and review)

Sucker looks gorgeous!!! It looks like the fit and finish are excellent. Love the tiny dots on the fretboard and the machining on the metal parts. Not that I ever would, but, would humbuckers be a drop in replacement? I hate that finish but I understand why you love it. Congrats, I hope I can...

HR design and build thread part III - The build.

I've been busy recuperating and haven't looked in in a while. I'm glad to see this moving forward. The thing looks beautiful.
