I recently sold an MK 488II to a friend and he's having a problem. It seems he can record all the tracks fine, and moniter them fine. But after mixdown something like tracks 1,3 and 6 (or something along those lines) are missing from the stereo master. I remember having a similair problem...

I have just purchased the dbx 386 tube amp and really like the distortion effect when the gain and output are cranked and returned to the board. Is this harmful to the preamp? It's a really nice distortion for vocals.

I believe it is a panning issue. I've done this many moons ago. Pan the first two hard left and the next two hard right. Press the 1L 2R assign button. It will be wierd while recording and monitoring, but once down on tape he can pan them howevere he desires. I think this will work, like I...

Many thanks for your reply, I just took em up to the repair shop and told the guy to give em a good once over. I feel better knowing he gave them a good bill of health. He told me he could have em back by friday and thier still under warranty so no skin off my back, just a waste of my time...
