To be honest I didn't even know what a pre amp was untill not too long ago. But you learn alot here on these forums. I can't believe people can spend thousands on one, wow. Now that I have a good mic I realize that I'm going to need one to get the most out of it. But your point of plugging one...
I'm not familiar with the "PRE/DIGI converter" ala ART DPS stuff. But was thinking of a small tube pre that I plug in and output to my Korg. You say this way I'm not getting the true essence of my Pre because my Korg's masking it, hmm that's interesting I never thought of that. I'll have to...
I got my KSM32 yesterday. So I plugged it in my Korg D1200 digital 12 track.
I already had some music tracks set to add some vocals to. I don't have a mic pre amp except for the one built in my Korg. Anyway I plugged my mic in and recorded my vocals. The results were it sounded Ok, nothing...
Actually after listening to your song again it's the first line that doesn't flow smoothly. "I feel like you don't like me (slight pause)very(akward pause) much." The last word drops on an off beat. I think this line should flow a little smoother perhaps without the second pause before much. I...
Nice song, the opening two lines are a phrased a little awkwardly. The guitar solo gets a little sloppy towards the end of the song. You might want to clean it up or shorten it. The drums do sound weak. Over all it's a nice song. Some nice guitar playing.
Hey I'm listening to some old Cuban music and the sound is awesome, horns, percussion, acoustic guitars, fantastic vocals. I have no idea when these songs were recorded but I have a feeling it could be as far back as the 40s or 50s. My question is what kind of mics did they use back then...
Yes, I got infected here. I haven't even got my Shure and already I'm thinking of getting another mic. All I can say is you have to be strong. Hang in there.
Yeah, I hear you man. What good is having a 1000 dollar mic if you can't sing or play worth a shit. On the other hand if you can really sing and play you can make a 300 dollar, shit even a 100 dollar mic sound gold. By the way I wish the KSM32s were only 300 bucks they retail at 499.00 but I'm a...
Like "ass" haha, I notice people using that term around here. Well I plan to use it for my guitar cab mostly, some vocals too. It's my first studio mic, got to start somewhere.
Well I posted this thought thinking of the large condensor mics. I recently went through the process of trying to figure out which mic was the best for the cheapest price. Then after racking my brains I realized that most likely I'll get what I pay for. So if I bought like lets say a Rode NT1000...
Yes, you're right. There are those mics that don't cost a fortune that are still high quality. But you notice he didn't use a radio shack mic either. 300.00 dollars isn't cheap either for some people. I should of added that a good mic doesn't have to cost a thousand dollars.
Let's face it when it comes to mics you get what you pay for. A hundred dollar mic is going to sound like a hundred dollare mic and a thousand dollar mic is going to sound, well you get the picture. The bottom line the more you pay the more you get. So if you want a decent mic save your money...
