    VF-16 Waveform editing

I just noticed that Fostex is marketing the VF-16 in the recording magazines as having waveform editing onboard. Now I've had mine for months now and saw nothing about that in the manual. How do I access the waveform editing? How is it used? Thanks for any insight on this.

    Amp modeler live.

I have some gigs coming up soon. I have a J-Station and love it but it isn't practical to use for live work. I'm thinking of purchasing the Digitech RP-200 or RP 100 as they are much more durable and appear to be designed for the stage. Does anyone use a modeler live? If so which one and how...

    Alesis ML9600 and TC Finalizer

I just wondered if anyone had either of these units, if they made a positive difference in the final product, and which would have the bigger impact on the sound?

    VF-16: Is the CR300 Best?

VF-16 and CR300 are compatible Just thought I'd put in my two cents- I have the CR-300 which I bought to backup DMT-8VL data. Now that I have the VF-16 I use the CR-300 with it and it works flawlessly.

    VF-16 Question: Buss Record

I had trouble with the aux send too. Someone from this forum finally explained that you have to bring the signal back from your effectsunit through channels 15 and 16 after rerouting the signal path in the VF-16 to accomplish this. Unfortunately you must then sacrifice channels 15 & 16 leaving...

    Yamaha DTX! Live sound question!

No, you have four outputs: 1. aux out left 2. aux out right 3. main out right 4. main out left Run four cords from those four outputs to the mixing board then select one output for kick, one for snare, etc. through panning.

    Yamaha DTX! Live sound question!

fita, Even though you can pan across the auxor main sends in steps of 1 through 4, I believe that all that will give you is various graduations of stereo. To isolate the kick drum and snare, they, and they alone must go to either the aux or main, then pan them hard right and left...

    Yamaha DTX! Live sound question!

Panning is the key!!! My cousin has a DTX set and we isolate the kick, snare from the rest of the set when recording. I believe he pans the kick hard right and the snare hard left to the aux outs which seperates them completely; the rest of the set comes out the mains and he pre-mixes the...

    CR300 CD Recorder

I bought my CR-300 first, then purchased the VF-16 as a replacement for the DMT-8VL so we will have the same setup. The CR-300 is a great burner and backed up great on the DMT. I haven't backed up anything from the VF yet but it uses the same system so there should be no problems. other than it...

    VF-16 Aux Send

I own effects units I want to use in conjunction w/ the two internal effects on the VF-16. That's what the aux sends are supposed to be for. The problem is- I can't figure out how to get the signal back into the mix from the external processor: So far I've bought the proper cord (Y jack w/ a...

VF-16: S/PDIF May Be THE Answer!

Why not just get a Fostex CR-300 CD burner? I have one and it's solid as a rock though a bit pricey ($900). I mixdown from the VF-16 to it and save data to it.

    Anyone tried Johnson J-Station?

I only have time for a quick post today. I'll post again this weekend and try to answer any other questions. The salesman quoted me a "rock bottom" price of $325 on the POD 2.0 and later, a slightly higher price for the J-Station, I think he said $340 for the J. But after I pulled the old "I...

    Anyone tried Johnson J-Station?

I haven't delved into most of this stuff yet. You can definitely get downloads via the Internet and you can definitely get a foot controller for the J-Station. Having tried it direct for recording and also through an amp- I'll give the J-Station a huge thumbs up on both counts. I definitely...

    Anyone tried Johnson J-Station?

I went to the music store Saturday for one reason- to buy a POD. I tried the POD 2.0 and the older version for about two hours all the while thinking "this is what all the fuss is over?" The rock tones were great and I can see why rockheads would dig it but I play all types of stuff and the...

VS-1880... Somebody talk me out of it! I beg of you!!!

Does the VS-1880 allow you to burn CDs if you already own a burner? I have a Fostex CR-300 burner and if buying the VS-1880 means I just lost my $900 investment in the Fostex, then it's out.
