Money is not a problem . I want a stable mobo with good pcie slots and good usb3 ports .( usb 3 sucks on my old Asus Z68 ) .

Why z77 and not z87 ? I need at least 32 GB Ram and a fast i7 since I use tons of vsti and vst fx . After reading about TB I think I go for a pcie interface like Lynx or RME , though I will have place for my Mytek ad/da converter and a micpreamp .

Yes , I'm going to build a DAW PC . I found both Asus and Gigabyte have mobos with TB ports . For ex Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD7 TH and Asus Z87 DELUXE/ DUAL . Wich is best for a DAW machine ? I have only experience of Asus , wich has been good for several years .

I've seen both Motu and UA have thunderbolt interfaces . What's the difference between TB and Pcie ? Is it only the speed ? What I know there is not so many PC mobos with TB ports , or ? I wondering wich I shall buy for my next PC build ??? PS . Is TB going to replace Firewire ? DS .

Thanks ! Both have 64mb cache . I have 4 6Gb ports and 4 3Gb´s , I use 3 of the 6Gb for my 3 ssd-drives, but if it doesen´t matter I choose the Seagate for projects ( it got nice reviews on Sweetwaters website ). I bought the WD RE4 for it´s low price and cause I never tried an enterprise drive...

I bought some new HDD´s . Which of these 2 are best as project drive ? 1 : WD RE 4 500 GB 2 : Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 1TB What I can see in the spec the difference is sata 6Gb/s on the Seagate and sata 3Gb/s on the WD . Someone who knows more than I do ( I´m stupid at PC ) about HDD´s ???:)

Thanks Yes , I read this thread and I don´t understand what the OP mean with to have one drive that write and one that reads . I have one drive (ssd) for OS + programs , another(7200RPM) for projects and a third (7200RPM)for sample librarys.
