Make sure what you're sampling sounds good, clean first off. It's east to dirty up something but difficult to polish a shitty sound. I always dig for drums off 45's because they sound bigger and fuller due to the larger grooves. You don't have to, but that's just me. If you don't know much...
How many inputs can you record with simultaneously on the 003 w/ 4 d/i inputs and 4 xlr inputs. In other words, is it possible to use mic input 1 and line input 1 at the same time while recording? I don't own one yet so I was hoping to find this out in order to decide to get the 003 or 003+...
I'm getting a set ready for a live show, about 4 songs. Each song instrumental is one stereo track and I have the whole set in one session. I'm putting in fades and crossfades and delays in between each song so it doesn't sound like a cd, and more like a fluid live show. Does anyone know if...
Anyone using this units A/D option?
What are some of your routing layouts?
Having trouble using the spdif, not sure if it's my interface or my routing in the ISA.
Any help would be great. Thanks
I'm a freak about good drum sounds. The ones your using sound like factory sounds off of a drum machine or fruity or whatever. Just my opinion, I think if you dig and fine tune your drums, it'll add much more character to your beat. Layer, eq, and compress. Don't over do it though.
Check out the new joint up on my myspace page:
www.myspace.com/kno1ills
It's called 'The New Thing'. I'm up second and fourth verse.
I put up This other track called 'Classics' but it sounds like shit(the product of early morning recording) hahaha. I'll get around to re-recording it again...
You can find 2000xl's on ebay for under a grand easy. I've been using my 2000xl for a while and I don't think I'll ever part with it. I tried the 1000 and it's got a lot of new tech stuff like the flash and usb, and I know the newer mp's got the chop shop and a the capacity for a bazillion...
What interface are you using? mbox, 002, 003?
Easiest way is to run 1/4 inch cables from the mpc outs into the interface with the line selection on instead of mic. In pro tools, go to the top menu bar and go to track and create a few audio tracks. Set the bpm's in the extended transport to...
Me and my hommie Nippondamic did a track for a mixtape that's up on itunes.
Type in kno1ills on the itunes music store search bar. My hommie's on the preview, I got second verse.
