i have the 20/20bas and they ARE sheilded and they do have a heat sink. the "heat sink" takes up about 50% of the back of the monitors. the problem is that the it is totally flat (no heat dissapating radiator like metal) and flush, and therefore gets hot as hell after about 45min or so...

If you will only have the NS-10M's as your primary monitoring system, I recommend not getting those monitors. There are many more better choices out now.
