Not for monitoring I wouldnt say so....
However I use them for my ipod and I like them WAY BETTER than the
ipod plugs.
Music listening in general. I have some small little plugs that nice comfy in the ear.
Yeah Im thinking bout buying 1 604, and then maybe get another one down the road. Would be okay if I did that? I dont see them selling 604' stereo pair. So that is why I thought about getting the 603 as a pair.
I wouldnt use them for vocals at all..just guitar pretty much and drum overheads...
So my question is basically do they sound different? I know the 604 you have the switch. Which is the better mic?
At this moment in time I want to try to record vocals and acoustic at the same time. What would be the best way to go with this method?
I have a sterling audio st55. I'm looking to...
I totally understand where your coming from. That's probably why I have so many incomplete songs because of "lyric hangup". I can write music all the time...lyrics are a bitch...to fit and form...to change...not to change.
Hey cool. Yeah i have a ST55 by Sterling. I guess its a good mic. Its also Cardioid! I used to use pencil condensers...(mxl603's) I think i need to buy some new mics.
What do you use?
Yikes!!! I didnt mean to cause a fight or war of posts! I wasnt even expecting these many responses!!
Anyway sometimes im lost for words on how to describe the "noise" im talking bout ...cuz it could be a bunch of things like people said.
To answer some of the questions...
Mic ST55 (Sterling...
Hello all.
First of all i always notice sometimes a noise issue with my recordings. Especially right in the beginning before i hear the guitar come in.. When everything else is playing i cant really notice it. I guess im asking how to get rid of noise before you hear the tracks come in to get...
I agree there is no particular time.
Im as perfectionist as it gets and its killing me...moving on. I'm learning to break this bad mindset.
I have been working on this one song for a bout 6months...(versions/ideas/retracking/ etc)....its almost there!
I'm probably like you with adding things and see where it takes the song. Sometimes i have a clear idea but....it changes with the recording process.
Also the way i hear things in my head dont always come out the same way when i record. Probably cuz i dont have a real drumset or....the best...
Yeah that might be good def. I write mostly acoustic stuff. I do hear parts but its more of a mellow atmosphere in my head so things are more experimental when tracking comes along. So if i start adding things...I will feel that is really works or colors the idea well or it may suck.
I guess i...
Ok...so there is days i just sit and wonder and get lazy bout recording.
So i was curious how does everyone go bout recording there songs.
Motivation?
Sometimes i guess this is how i go bout it:
Set the mics up and try to find a good sound or place.
Then set the metronome.
record...
Through...
Thanks! Appreciate the feedback. I never mastered either yet really so maybe that is why i think it has to sound a "certain way"
Just recording acoustic guitar and vocals project too.
Certain mics react differently too to preamps im sure? I using a ST55 by Sterling Audio..heh.
