Tascam DM4800 and headphone mixes - help

Hi, I have a 4800 and I am not sure that I am getting the monitor mixes out correctly. At present I am using Aux 1 (mono and not linked to Aux 2) for my headphone mix to the recording room. However when I send signal from Aux 1 (or any Aux, 2,3,4 etc) it only will come out the left side...

    Tascam DM-4800 - live monitoring

Thats the way I would do it. I would use the Aux sends to each fold back creating what ever mix I wanted in each fold back by adjusting the Aux send on each channel. You could use other options as the 4800 has lots of output options however the easiest choice is the Aux sends 1 through 8. As...

HAVING PROBLEMS INSTALLING TASCAM IF-FW/DMmk2 ON MY HP COMPUTER

Hi, I had the same issue with my Mac..Very hard to get the thing working. What I had to do to get my dm4800 working with my DAW (Logic) was that I had to first update the drivers in the dm4800...the manual should tell you how to upgrade the firewire card to the latest etc...then I tried all...

Tascam DM4800 - how do you route outboard gear ?

Im running the firewire card 32 in and 32 out but no other digital options. I have the assignable returns set to a physical channel anyway. I have mine set to channel 53 onwards to 60 just after my effects returns starting on channel 49. So I guess I would take the return signal from the...

Tascam DM4800 - how do you route outboard gear ?

Thanks Vbass. Its kind of the way I have been working. Its just the internal insert patching was confusing. I was thinking that the Aviom card for the mixer would be handy for my monitor mixes then I could use all of the send / returns for external effects. I mix down to a two track tascam...

Tascam DM4800 - how do you route outboard gear ?

Hi all, Just was wondering how everyone routes outboard gear (in a studio situation) through the DM4800? I know that you can use the Aux sends, or the internal inserts however I was wondering the best way to do this? I use my Aux sends for headphone mixes so should I use the rest of the...

TASCAM DM4800 Question re: Busses and Dir-Outs

Yeah I agree. I would rather record directly which is what I do most of the time. I have each channel set to "direct" on the ouput assign so really its direct into logic. I just read that the direct button overrides my buss assignment anyway and sends the signal before anything is processed...

TASCAM DM4800 Question re: Busses and Dir-Outs

Hi, My question is this... I have a DM4800 with firewire card and I have it set at the moment to rec to logic using busses. So 1 thro 24 go to busses which go direct into logic and subsequently those channels in logic return to 25 onwards etc. Is there going to be a difference if I dont use...

Tascam DM4800 Automation and Logic Audio 7

Hi, Does anyone know why some of the automated features would not work on the tascam dm4800 and logic audio.? I have most of the automation working, i.e. faders, jog / shuttle, pan, bus sends, etc... HOWEVER the play, stop, record buttons in the automation section (below right on the console)...

Thanks for the reply. I think that is does have somthing to do with the mac. I got the card working with audio back and forth between the desk and mac however now the mac wont see the card at all. It sees it in the Audio control panel but not in the Audio / Midi panel.
