    Taboo Subject

I know recording with an on-board p/up is very nearly always not the way to go! I record my acoustic guitar in a variety of ways, I also record my vocals & guitar "live" all in one go and nearly always with condenser mic's apart from sometimes using my favourite vocal mic. an old Beyer M300...

I'm using Cubase 7E to record and mix tracks, I am try to upload my tracks to Reverbnation, at the moment this is pretty hit and miss so I'm assuming the mix down settings are not correct, this is what Reverbnation require: MP3 format (192 kbps - 320 kbps bit rate, 44.1 or 48 KHz Sample Rate)...

    General Tidy Up

Can someone help please ? Cubase Elements 7 : I seem to have forgotten how to trim the begining and end of a track and how to insert silence at the beginning and eliminate those creaking chairs amd muffled coughs, plus isthere some thing I can do as a final touch to get that "pro polish" effect...

    Tuner in Cubase 7

Doe's anyone know how to work the tuner in Cubase 7 ? I look at it in the guitar channel, push the buttons, nothing happens! I can generate a tone in one of the onboard synth's but I just thought the tuner would be easier, thanks.

    Recording DI bass guitar

Thanks for that, David, so' I could run the graphic pedal thro' the effects loop on the mixer and also use the onboard compressor in the mixer, which would make almost like the pre-amp on a real amp [I think!] Thanks again.

    Clean up from vinyl

Ah I should have said, I had two vinyl albums transferred to CD by a local studio and I think they could be improved, not remixed, by a little compression or normalising, that sort of thing, the tracks are generally a little on the quiet side, thanks.

    Recording DI bass guitar

I picked up a used bass, not a top end bass, but my playing bass as a pro for many years compensates for this and after a set up, and a tidy up she's good to go! Every time I recorded bass in a studio I mic'd with half of whatever stack I was using at the time, usually Orange, or sometimes a...
