Hi Papanate, thanks for responding. I've been wracking my brain thinking through how it all might work, or not work.. and I agree, the best way so far would be use a bunch of the L12 inputs, get them to a reasonable mix quality, then output as a stereo pair into the L20 either on a pair of the...
I have the L20 and am running out of channels already.. typical jam session I have 2 electric gtrs, a bass, I like to leave 1 track open for overdubs later (lead or another rythm), then there could be 10 drum mics (snare, kick in and out, four toms, hats, ride and a pair of overheads.. this can...
I just watched a YT video on this issue! I forgot which one it was but there are a few in this search: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=cleaning+rubber+grip
I can relate, even though my/our usage is very non-pro and basic.. but I also prefer to use the mixer for the most part as my jam space is small.. so as Talisman wrote, can you not mix the recorded tracks down to a master, then when your'e ready to record overdubs or new takes on top of that...
Yellow, absolutely and I've read that even in the digital world, the odd red bar can be ok (definitely was fine with analog.. some will say in the digital realm clipping into the red will distort etc, but I've heard experts say going into the red can be ok especially for rock and heavy metal...
Thanks for your replies guys. I tend to do most of my mixing and mastering on the L-20 itself.. maybe I'm old school and prefer sliders than mousing around software, but also my monitoring speakers and headphones are down in the basement with all my gear setup. But since I still pop out the SD...
Thanks for the reply, BTStudio.. its weird as I'm certain that some of my masters DID only have my trimmed songs where I started at my marker.. but others give me the whole track with all the chatter before we get serious and the chatter afterwards.. eventually I'll get better at starting the...
I thought the LED indicators on the Master fader was left and right channels, like you get for 17/18 and 19/20. Is it possible you have some/many of your channels panned far to the right thus increasing the final right channel volume to be higher?
Anybody experience this.. I set markers for our songs as to where we actually start playing.. often there's a minute after I hit record where we are talking or getting ready to begin. When I do my masters, I get cued up at the marker for the song's real start time, toggle my master record...
Hi everyone and thanks for all your responses! I agree that we just want to have it in our monitors IRL when we jam for a better sound experience and not necessarily in the main mix or recordings. I have indeed gone through both strips of effects as well as toyed with the two parameter knobs and...
Does anyone use the FX options for vocals with their L-20? My basement jam space has a studio feel/sound to it so vocals can be a bit dry for us when we practice, so I wanted to enhance it for us during the session. I'm not finding anything that really does the job, even after adjusting all the...
Hi Dave, I just found this group and wanted to chime in to say I've found the SAME darned issue.. getting feedback and trying everything to fix it.. as you say, even with gain all the way down.. I had to unplug my mic inputs.. am testing again this weekend and will post if I find a fix.. it IS...
