Sounds pretty tight, mate. Overall, a nice mix. I like the guitar sound. As others suggested, you could maybe add some meat in the lower end.

Interesting. I like the guitar addition. Would be nice to hear more of that. I agree with RFR about letting the song build up. I think some drum variation during the chorus sections would help.

I don't know much about mixing either. I dig the guitar tone. Clean playing, mate. I agree that the guitar could be a little brighter and would be cool to see you play with some delay.

Thanks for the input everyone. Seems the consensus is to get real personal and intimate with that mic, back off on the reverb (definitely), eliminate any phasing issues with the voice (push voice forward), and clean up any rumbles. I'm realizing now that the voice does tend to jump around too...

What do mean exactly by too much energy? Too much chaos or too many sounds competing with each other on the lower frequencies? I'll try to clean the vocals. I'll try to reduce the low end to see if that helps .

Thanks, mate. I definitely need to add some clarity to the vocals then because you're the second person to mention that. I'll spend some time fixing the vocals and then update this thread to see what you all think.

Tried something different with this mix. Tried to isolate the guitar in audition and give it some garage fuzz. I then had the fun idea of using a wine bottle to create some harrowing tinny guitar sweeps for some ambient noise and background riffs. I like the dark western feel this achieves...
