My 13 yo daughter wrote an original tune “Reaching for the Moon” - check it out yo

New original tune my 13 yo daughter came up with: Reaching for the Moon

She wrote the song, sang, played bass, and added keys

I played drums and guitars.

Fun project to do together!

Thanks, she’s having such a great time making music…and so fun to collaborate with her and teach her about song writing/recording! Really fun!

I had that same thought about the rhythm guitars. I didn’t think the bass was very bright, but I’ll take a look.

Oh wow, such kind words. So glad you liked it! It was so fun to see her so excited to make it! She’s sitting at the piano right now working on the next tune :)
 
This is excellent. Sounds very modern.
The vox get a little bit buried during the busy part of the song.
The song as a composition has a vintage effect of like nostalgia.
Not something I'd expect a 13yo to dream up.
I'd expect someone like a young Judy Garland to sing this.
Very well done.

Yes, exactly. Musically mature for someone just into their teens. Good tune, ace delivery, great hook. Five stars out of the gate, kid. If your dad behaves, let him play on more of your tunes lol.
 
As good as any.
I'd like to watch the band live.
Just add a visual identity and watch the $$$$$$$$ fly in.

She’s into musical theatre and you can definitely see the influence!

Her next tune is definitely shaping up to be very pop/theatric as well. We worked on it last week but haven’t worked out all the details, then got busy. She’s determined though, so more to come for sure.
 
Man, I love the vocals on this. She sings really well and all the recordings are nice and clean.

I agree the crunchy guitar is a bit overwhelming when comes in, but just a touch. I like the energy there.

There are a few mix issues that could be cleared up a bit (mentioned earlier), but the performances and energy were really great, and the song is quite nice as well. I'm sure you're already very proud, but please tell her awesome job!
 
I really enjoyed this song. It was orignal, engaging and interesting. I hope she continues with her music

Thanks for the kind words. We just recorded the scratch tracks for her new song “Imagination” and it’s sounding great. She’ll be singing and playing bass on this one as well. She’s even planning a bass solo, haha!

She has been saving her $ and just bought a used MIM HSS Strat. If she learns drums too I’ll be completely out of a job!
