Next up in my PRS fanboyism is a 2018 Silver Sky.
This is one of the first 500 that came with a hardcase (with a plaque) instead of a gigbag.
A very lucky local Craigslist deal, with a bonus flamed maple neck...

And yes... it lives up to the hype. :-)

A guitar from the 1910s.

The guitar I am playing in this picture is an Aston? My go to. A cheap Chinese guitar I saw on ebay for 250.00. I liked
the looks so I bought it. Either cheap plastic inlays or abalone, I can't tell the difference, fake Floyd Rose. Decent pickups, kept them..Neck through.
Two railed humbuckers, five way switch, 22 frets, rosewood?fingerboard, I can't tell? Contoured body. Body front, neck and headstock bound.
Swapped out the knobs for gold metal w/abalone inlays. I dropped her once and she has a big ding in one spot, I can't even tell if it is wood? It looks
more like chip board and fiberglass? She does the trick though. Have never seen another one.

I need a Tele.
Everyone needs a Tele.
Tele's yes, but you need the compressor to make it sound like a plucky tele.

My main guitars are Stratocasters. I have 2. They are set up by a luthier from the hair band days. Nuts are cut and the action is lowered at the nut. Necks are relaxed, clamped, and re trussed. Plek'd for orientation. Fret job. Crowned. Rewired to have 20 + sounds. there is a midi/peizo split 4th pickup in front of the bridge. Look at the F spacing..

However, this one guitar is close to a Tele..A Gibson Melody Maker with a Baby Grand Bridge and Lipstick pickups. I rewired the pickups to be humcancelling in the middle position instead of in series.(one pickup is reverse wound)

the pick guard looks like a black dog playing the harmonica.

Always 'S' type steel saddles. Toss those aluminum blocks..
I always load the STD trem block with ALL 5 springs.
Fender Locking tuners
Fender Roller LSR nut

The MIM has a couple different loaded plates on a quick connector. Super switch. Alpha push/pulls. Switchcraft. The MIM has blades, or lace sensors, or tubes style so I dont worry about F spacing alignment. It plays different due to this. Hotter. Downside is it has linear string bending, as there is no pin to pull off of.

Had this a few days now.
Guitar shopping in the morning, and the queen dies in the afternoon.
It is an Ibanez RG370 AHMZ-BMT
It is a jolly nice thing. The tremolo arm is better than the one on my strat, as you can clamp it in position.
The bridge and pickup hardware is good quality. It has a 5 position switch.
Paid under £450 for it. As I waited to pay, another grey-haired man was buying a £2000 american strat.
I think I got the better deal.

Here is my shredder. A reverse headstock black beauty, Jackson. Seymour Duncan Distortion set (the older one). Jackson is a satellite company of Fender. So its like an extension of my Stratocasters. Set up like a champion.

Its on 'Fat Five' switching, 20+ sound combinations on super switch. Alpha push/pulls. Orange drops. Switchcraft jacks etc..

Fender has a kit to fix this, if wandering is an issue on the Stratocasters. Even has a magnetic door/cover to keep from falling out when not in use...

Nice one! What's with the foam on the whammy bar?

Thermal insulation . When I shred , my licks are so hot ...dont wanna burn my fingers..

It was called a 'Whammy Cozy'. Supposed to help with grip, playing live you get sweaty. No slip grip.

This low priced guitar looks fantastic. It was $199 I think. Plays like a million bucks. Epiphone model from when Gibson owned them, as indicated by the truss cover. This one does not have the same set up as the others. No pleking or fretboard work, or nut alterations. You can tell. .. Seymour Duncan HB-4b and SH-1n wired with Jimmy Page wiring 20+ sounds. Orange drops. Alpha push/pulls. I wanted locking tuners, so i went with Hipshot open locking tuners. The open brass gearing is cool as hell. No drilling. Then I liked the Bixby's of that 335 era, but the holes in the Epiphone body would show (ugly) with a Bixby brand tail. So i found a trem that fits the mount hole spacing, a Duesenberg trem arm system. Installs clean. Same Bixby action, more or less. It swings up out of the way when not in use. What are you thinking?
