What's a good low cost pre amp

I have a tascam dp03sd portastudio and the pre amps are a little weak for my tastes also the phantom power adds too much noise. Right now im using my boss rc30 as a pre amp and its better but I need recommendations for a good cheap pre amp for a LDC mic and maybe guitar that can just stay plugged in to my recorder that gives me more volume and less noise.
 
There was a similar question here just recently, and a couple ART models popped up.
 
If you mean like audio interfaces? Lots of them around, you can get them for as cheap as $60-70. Behringer UM2
