You'll Know Why My 1st Name's "Crazy" w This Album Intro Song

Here is the opening "song" (more like an instrumental) that is purposefully a bit chaotic (hopefully in a fun way) and begins my 10 song album. It is bookend "left", 8 songs, then bookend "right" coming soon. The busy kicks and bass were hard to make play "nice" with each other.
There are a lot of elements here, as this song could be thought of as more of a sound track then a song.

I am a fan of intros and using other audio for "storytelling" and getting a message across. When the music kicked in I heard some Primus style music there. I like it. As far as the mix I could hear all the instruments well. I can see people saying its just too much though. The kick was so repetitive that it I was like "is this going to end?" I think you can get your message across by shortening it changing it up at some point. That first "Hate...Destroy" part was just too long in my opinion. I do like it though, I would like to hear your other stuff too. Cool

It's "Create", "Destroy", Beauty, "Love", as in an existential view of the mechanics of the universe - coldly go about either creating or destroying, but as sentient beings, we can find beauty and love in it.
I did set out to make a little intro of about 1:30 to 2 minutes long, but I went over with each element. As it sits right now - it's @ pop song length at 3 min I could try to cut this down, though.

Can't really critique the intro. That's one of those things that's weird and custom enough that there's no real right/wrong way to do it. If you like it, then it's done.

I do agree that the kick (and the snare) once the music kicks in is pretty repetitive. Percussion is definitely one of those instruments where the notes you don't play are some of the most important.

Guitar line is cool.

Bass isn't super-prominent, but it's coherent if you listen for it.

I thought the intro was cool enough. It went on a long time, but it was interesting enough that I wouldn't say it went on *too* long.

The guitar playing was excellent. The tone was good too.

I'm not listening on the best system, but I can barely hear the bass. It could some way up. Maybe a low end boost as well.

Thx B, TM, and VHS. I will have another mix up soon with the following changes.
1) Bring up bass
2) Variation on Drum Pattern (Maybe in a segment or two, do 4 on the floor kicks, and a "wipe out" thing on the floor tom)
3) Edit for time (This was supposed to be my "Eruption" by VH or "Foreplay" Boston, not song length, so I'll get it down under 2 minutes)

I'll wait for the new mix. There's an odd mid frequency EQ I'm hearing too loud on the whole length (reverse mid scoop?). Maybe I've just been cooking my ears all afternoon.
A little more cookie monster in the hate destroy beauty love in the music (deep growl) might be cool. (maybe just grab a pitch shifter and do an octave or two (or both) and mix to suit.)

There are some cool riffs in there . Definitely way to long . I kept waiting for a change that never came . To me the voices seemed nontheatrical . No energy or passion .( I would put them more in the background ) Cool Idea maybe for a chorus in a song. But too much as minutes of the same thing . The bass ... well it's kinda like the metallica black album . you cant here it . I would make the guitar tones heavier . And write three more parts for that and instead of an intro . You have an additional song

The idea was too make the voice-overs dispassionate - less like people, and more like concepts (like a beatnik reading poetry). I'll be working on that bass and editing for length soon.
