Just an example of the Ramones career in a nutshell:

The Ramones debut album, released April 1976, is generally regarded as ground zero for many in the alternative/punk genre. This is a historically significant, groundbreaking, influential album. There are countless testimonials from people saying that this album immediately made everything they listened to previously obsolete.

It just went gold in 2014. For as huge as the Ramones are now, no one bought their albums while they were actually making them.

Holy crap. 40 years to go gold! That's almost sad in a way.

OK, we need more tones!!! :D

I love hearing people's solo'd tracks. I actually learned a lot and improved my guitar tracks just from having some Greg and Minerman tracks as reference, as well as a few others.

I just went back and checked. I'm the last person to post a tone and that was about 5 or 6 pages ago.

I have a new one I want to post, but I don't want to hog the place. So, someone post something then I'll post mine.

Besides that, where the fuck is Minerman????

I've been dragged along to the fucking opera. It's the interval, it's shite. I'm chucking back white wine like there's no tomorrow.

Holy shit, the opera! Man, the only way you could get me to sit through 3 hours of fat ladies in metal bra's would be if the opera was about ME!

Der Ramislaus.

I've actually got a folder of tones different people posted here to use as reference tracks dude...Most of 'em are Greg's roaring Marshalls...I don't use 'em trying to ape his tones with my amp, but I do use 'em with ampsims...:).

I'm here man, I've been under the weather the past day or so....I had a unbelievable Friday night though Rami.....:D.

Yeah, me too. I've used yours and Greg's tracks not to try to simulate them, but just to have a reference of what a meaty, full guitar sound is.

Good, man. Hope it helped. Fuck the weather. :)

Some of their songs are pretty good. They just seemed so fake and contrived to me. Postcard punk rockers.
Possibly, there weren't that popular in the uk though, so they weren't so annoying and poppy as Offspring and Green day. .. haha, 14 year old girls like Green day

OK, so this is what I started working on 2 days ago. It's just the beginning, so I'm sure there's still a bunch of mixing to do be done, especially after I put vocals on it.

I'm thinking the intro guitar is a little too razor-sharp. I think I like the doubled rythm that can be heard by themselves at the 35 second mark. Funny thing is, the intro is my Gibson SG and the doubled rythms are my Epiphone SG with the P-90's.

Yeah I think all of those tones are a little thin. The intro bit sounds out of tune as well, or the intonation is off, or your fingering is loose or something. Lol. Loose fingering. Sounds naughty. Anyway, it's cool licks and shit. Cool bass. The lead tone sounds good to me. Just get the rhythms a little chunkier.

I recorded several clips of my LP + 2204 with a few different pedal options and a couple of different mic positions a while back. I never ended up posting them. I've listened back to them a few times so far, and at least they gave me a little direction for more things to try. I'll have to revisit the project, refine the tones a bit, and post them up for some advice.

OK, everything you said is what I thought. I forgot to mention that I noticed it was out of tune after tracking. I'm going to re-do it, I just left it like that as a scratch track while I did the bass and drums and then got used to it. I'll re-do it in tune and try to get a little more beef into it. Thanx man.

Exactly dude, & I'm actually flattered you'd use any of my tracks for this...I'm betting it was the Chupacabra amp I sold a few months back....Either way dude, I'm flattered....

I still can't believe that shit dude, but yeah, definitely helps man...Thanks to all you guys!!!!!

Cool tune man, sounds like KISS to me...The intro guitars to me aren't too bright/sharp sounding, they've got a different mid-range than the other guitars...
You might try to cut a little notch around 300 hz or so to see if it clears 'em up a little...I know I say that shit all the time, but most of my guitar tracks actually sound a little better if I notch somewhere around that frequency...And while it is best to get the source right from the start, I can't seem to get that little frequency out of my raw tracks to save my life...It could be my room, I have treatment, but no bass traps...

The rhythm guitars to me sound perfect dude. The intro part isn't bad, again, maybe try a little post-eq, unless you're gonna re-track 'em that is...

Edit: I hear the tuning thing Greg mentioned now...

Actually, it's a lot of your Amplitube tracks. I figured having Greg's real Marshalls and your Amplitube tracks as a reference, I've got a pretty good range of sounds to refer to.

OK thanx, I'll try notching 300-ish and see what happens. KISS, eh? That's a shame. Since I have to re-track, maybe I'll re-write that part, too. :D

Thanx dudes. Gives me something to go on.
