Here's an awesome song I recorded the vocals for today. I didn't really do much editing or anything yet, but I figured I would see how people like it.

V2

Verse 1
We couldn't stay out of trouble even if we tried
To say we weren't looking for trouble that would be a lie
Booze n' drugs n' rock n' roll and living to raise hell
looks like we fucked up again now we're back in the county jail
Chorus
The cops show up right on time to shut the party down
They throw away all the beer we stole be the dope was never found
It happen so damn often those cops I'll never thank
Seems like every weekend they throw us in the drunk tank
verse 2
Handcuffed in the back of the cruiser turn that music up
But don't you hit too many bumps cause I just might throw up
The coldness of that concrete slab don't bother me no more
I'll be three sheets to wind when I curl up on the floor
Chorus

Nah, never happened to me. I always managed to be slightly more sober than the ones who got dragged away. It's a bit like two guys running from a bear. You don't have to be faster than the bear, just faster than the other guy.

Fun tune, as always. For the number of times you repeat the chorus, you might as well give it another verse: Next morning, hung over in a jail cell, waiting for them to let you out--cause there's another party brewing and you don't want to miss it. Where you'll get busted again, of course! ;) Could be a funny verse.

I think you need to sing it a few more times to get the vocals sounding a little smoother. That last line that ends with "drunk tank"--too many syllabus for the number of beats in the melody. You could sort that out by changing a word or two.

LOL I recorded the vocals a few times, just haven't gotten around to editing anything. Thanks for listening :D

Pretty cool little drinkin' ditty. writing style kind of reminds me of early David Allan Coe. I like it. It's cool to see somebody else besides me post some country in here.
Great job on this Phil!

Philly, you so country!

Mixwise, it's how the vocal relates to the side guitars, space-wise. They're almost ballpark, but you gotta get 'em closer together.

Thanks! I don't know how close I can get it, but I'm going to fix some shit up and then hopefully it'll work better :D

EDIT:

Here's a 2nd version and I'm not sure, but I think I smoothed it out a bit...
