Yeah, you're probably right about all that. If I ever get myself to be able to listen to this again, I'll see what I can do about those issues. Right now, the whole tune sounds like shit to me. It's too soon. I hate this fucking song.

Personally, I find it annoying how much I hate my songs once they're finished. I usually need about 6 months before I can stomach one of my tunes again.
 
I cant offer any comment other than great track, I love the lo fi reversed sounds, I'd buy it!

lol.......for me its opposite....i like it the moment its finnished....the more i listen to it, the more i hate it...but then again, if i dont listen to it for, say a year, i like it again..go figure. (I think i just set a world record in dots and comma:-))

No, that's exactly what happens to me. I like it as soon as it's finished, too. But this tune was finished about 2 weeks ago. In a few months, I might listen to it and say "You know, that's not a bad song"....but not now. :)
 
There was a line we used all the time when I was in the bar bands: "If we still like the song, we're not ready to play it live." Meaning, until we were sick of the songs we played, we hadn't practiced enough. :)

It's my new (-ish) Ludwig Supraphonic. I'm still not crazy about the snare sound. Not blaming the snare. I still have to work with it. I might try different skins than the ones I've been using for decades on my other snare. They might not be the right skins for this snare. Not that it sounds bad, it sounds ok, and maybe even good....but not great, and it should.

Do you hear the out of tune-ness in the intro?
 
I was going to ask if it was the Supraphonic...as I knew you bought it not too long ago. :)

So like...it's not in any way a bad snare sound, not at all...but what I'm hearing for this song is that it comes off (IMO, YMMV) a bit too "high-strung".
Like...I'm hearing a more classic Rock song...but the Snare has a somewhat poppy/tighter Alt-Rock pitch.

I guess what I'm saying, I would have tuned it down a touch, and made it a pinch more looser...but that's just me. :D

Naa...I'm not hearing anything that would make me take notice. There's like one spot your voice kinda reaches...but hey, we all try to push...overall your vocals are solid.

A few people mentioned a kind of warbling going on when I hit an open G and D in the intro. If you don't really notice it, cool. Forget I said anything. :D

Damn dude, this is solid all around. Mix is perfect, don't touch it! Guitars, vocals, bass, drums...all of the tones and balance are perfect. I heard a little tuning or intonation issue with the bass in the middle part, but not in the rest of the song. Great performances and arrangement. Short and sweet. I don't think there's anything that you could change to improve it, definitely one of the finest mixes I've heard in the clinic.
 
I'm serious. That mix just sings on my studio setup. Clear, punchy, balanced...definitely cream of the Clinic crop.

I'd suggest postponing retirement for a while though. It'd be a loss to the community. Nothing wrong with a victory lap though :)
