The tempo is 121. All the tracks are 100% in grid once you set that tempo. There's one 3/4 bar (the Dog FX stem), but otherwise it couldn't get any simpler than that.

Hi Folks.. Mix is done and uploaded. Great track, great voice and very well recorded. Congrats and Good luck to all mixers here..

Definitely a high-quality production song and the challenge is in knowing what to underdub! Having fun with this.

Thank you for the opportunity to mix a magnificent record. I wish everyone good luck here is a couple screenshots of my Pro Tools session.

14.webpAnyone Doing this mix in Presonus Studio One? By The Way, Congratulations for the Singer and Producers, Great Song... ;)

Is anyone else having trouble playing back their upload? The "Ben mix" plays back fine in my browser but when I try to play back my mix the buffer appears to load with a green progress bar and then never plays. I just want to be sure the file's been uploaded.

That was fun.
Mixed the song in Samplitude Pro X using mostly the Samplitude plug ins and some Fabfilter plug ins and the Tube Tech CL 1B from Softube.
Oh and the VCC and VBC from Slate on a few tracks and the mixbus.

Well, I'm from the Caribbean, so this style of music is very different for me but it was cool and a nice experience to mix.. Really Good recorded tracks to begin with...
I mix in Cubase 7 and used touches of the SlickEq from TDR and BOotsy to touch up the vocals and clean up some lows, also used UAD 1176 compression plugins on vocals to tighten up and basically just some level management. So I hope everyone likes it. My first attempt at mixing this style of music.. God Bless...

Good Stuff

:thumbs up: Had a lot of fun with this one. Was a first for me, I have never mixed a song with this many tracks. Was good practice and really forced me to stay organized and focused

I used Cubase for this one, mainly just the stock vst's with the exception of a few saturation plugins and stuff like that :listeningmusic:

Hello Puremix, I just uploaded my mix for Amber skye "Howlin". My process for mixing is not straight from the moon. I did the usual gain staging, made sure tracks were in phase, cleaning up the low end. I used mostly waves plugins, slate digital and avid plugins. In terms of the interpretation of the mix....after listening to the song a couple times, I've decided to give the mix a touch from those old horror movies, like the old werewolf movies ( I only watch them in the day time :-) ). So my aim was to create that scene by using certain effects. I did use a lot of reverb though, just mostly delays. I hope my mix gives that feeling when you listen. It was a great production. Here are some pics from my protools session.

Howlin

Hey PureMix,
Uploaded a mix of Howlin. Vocal recording / performance was excellent and a clever arrangement overall.

For the mix I used Logic X with both plugins and hardware in hybrid setup with Analogue Summing.
Plugins: UAD, SSL Duende, Brainworx, Slate Digital, Maag EQ4, Fabfilter & Soundtoys
Summing/Interface: Dangerous D-Box + UA Apollo
Hardware: API 2500 + Manley Massive Passive for drum buss. Maselec MEA-2 + Manley Vari-Mu on Stereo Buss.

GL Everyone.

Hey all, just posted my mix and master to the puremix cloud. Thought the source material was really good, it's nice to be able to work on a mix without having to fix anything in post. Mixed ITB, with a lot of fabfilter and Ozone plugins.

I mixed the song without listening to the original first and now that I've listened to the original, mine is pretty much a different version. I went with more of an urban pop influenced mix, heavy on the drums and synths with a punchy bass, as well as using the guitars more as ambience. My instinct was to take it down a Nelly Furtado/Timbaland route. It definitely works with the production and the vocals.

As far as the material goes, I thought the production was really good, and the songwriting even better. It's a catchy tune for sure. The singing was really great, loved the harmonies.

Looking forward to listening to all of the mixes.

P.S. To the EMW guys, I'd love the chance to intern for you!

Used Cubase, Tc Powercore X8, Slate VBC, Massey plugs. I wanted an open, dynamic, sparkly mix. Used automation where needed. Mixed first on my headphones, after that switched to monitors and finished the job. Cumulated, it was a 12 - 14 hours job I think. Anyway around those numbers. Very good recording and production. "The Devil is hidden in details", so, no matter what quality is the production, it's a delicate work that need attention. I listened the original mix first to know the song from one perspective and I choosed a different path. Not better or worse, just different. Perhaps I was right and "hit" the taste of PureMix team. :)
