OK, This track has MULTIPLE tempos, a "tempo map" if you will… I am referencing the original track that I purchased and loaded into ProTools(9). I noticed this in "Grid mode". I could see that the transients started to come off of the grid after i set the tempo at 132 BPM's so, I took the time and mapped out the tempo changes according to the grid and the track lining up properly. I always start my sessions from bar 2(don't ask me why, i don't really know other than to allow a little room for a fade). Here's the tempo map with the track starting on bar (2)-131.75BPM, (23)-131.25BPM, (26)-131.5BPM, (28)-132.75BPM, (30)-130.75BPM, (31)-131.5BPM, (34)-132.25BPM, (36)-131BPM, (39)-133BPM, (41)-130.5BPM, (42)-131.75BPM, (54)-131.75BPM, (59)-130.5BPM, (60)-131.75BPM, (67)-131.5BPM, (68)-132BPM, (70)-131.75BPM, (72)-131.5BPM, (75)-132BPM, (77)-131.75BPM, (85)-131.25BPM, (88)-132.5BPM, (91)-130BPM, (92)-131.5BPM, (93)-133BPM, (94)-131.25BPM, (96)-132BPM, (97)-132.5BPM, (98)-134BPM, (99)-128BPM, (100)-131.75BPM, (120)-131BPM, (122)-131.75BPM, (123)-132BPM,
I thought this was rather odd though I have seen producers do this before to add some life to a track. I could be completely wrong though but, I doubt it. I spent hours figuring this out for anybody and everybody who cares about their delays and other sync related effects to sound right or line up. Happy mixing!
