Blow-Up Doll

I'm bored with all the girls that pass me by
It really bothers me
But then there was the one that caught my eye
She was a sight to see
Fishnets running up and down her thighs
A dream in PVC
5 foot tall 100 PSI
She is just right for me oh yeah

You really blow my mind - you blow my mind
my little blowup doll

My heart was racing I broke out in a sweat
I had to get her alone
She didn't even play too hard to get
And so I took her home
she doesn't yell at me she don't complain
She is a dream come true
If I get fat or old she'll stay the same
My lonely nights are through oh yeah....

You really blow my mind - you blow my mind
my little blowup doll

She's a librarian, a nurse, and a cop
She's never tired, she never stops
I am gonna love her until she pops

You really blow my mind - you blow my mind
my little blowup doll

Nice ...... I like everything except that buzzsaw guitar that opens the song is a bit fizzy to my ears. But I just got up too so that could be a part of it.
Song kinda makes me thing of weird Al ..... that's a good thing from me since I'm a fan.
Cool song man ..... I like it quite a bit.

Yeah man, I love it. It sounds like a parody pf a tune that doesn't exist. Everything sounds great. Your kik drum is perfect. I'm starting to really get frustrated with my drum sound in general. I have to work to get a snappy kik like you got in this tune. Anyway, this sounds as pro as anything. You manged to get it pretty loud, too. Great stuff.

Cool dude, thanks a lot. I'm not sold on that intro guitar line myself. I had a cleaner trem'd part there originally, like the "solo" tracks, but at the last minute decided to gain it up and play it with one of those broken powerchord octave hand position styles. I guess it's okay, but it's gotta grow on me. I might just retrack that part.

Thanks dude. I do feel like I have my kick dialed in. Aquarian Superkick! My favorite kick batter. The snare....not so much. This is my second tune in a row that I'm not crazy about the snare, but it's passable. I can live with it. I would have been happy with it before, but I think my tastes are changing.

Mix sounds great, the clean lead guitar is a touch low on my system. The backup vocals could be a touch louder for my taste but not a big thing there. The instruments really sound good. You really have that down.

Sounds great - Great fun too.
You're definitely on that list where I just listen for enjoyment.
Thanks for posting. :)

Blow me! LOL! Nice job Greggy-poo! For many years I considered myself king/master of the double entendre, but I think I'm going to have to hand over my old dented and tarnished crown to you! You're the new Shel Silverstein; except you're not Jewish! On another note: I was watching YouTube this morning of Alice Cooper's acceptance speech into the Hall of Fame. They mentioned Dick Dale & the Rebels as one of their main influences. I thought you'd appreciate that. And happy birthday fuckwad! LOL!:D

Thanks man. I agree about the "clean" guitar part. I think you're right and it could could come up a hair. That's going in the "fix later" notebook. I'm already on the fence about the backups being too loud on my setup, so I think I'm gonna stand pat there. Thanks for the listen and the feedback. :)

Haha thanks dude. :D

blow up doll the loud birthday present ? (when ya enthusiastically pop it)

fun track enjoyed it thanks :)

Cool song. I like the level of the bvox, The intro may be worth revisiting but it sits nicely as is.
Fun, economical & hedged against deflation during the next PVC, (poly vinyl crisis).
I was shocked that there was no verse about the joy of spontaneous gas release.
Huge guitar sound makes me sound like I'm playing through a 5 watter - which I am.

Many nice features - the double tremolo guitar solos, the great backing vocals, the tasty rhythmic change up right near the end - but my favorite was how you made the waveform look like a donger. I'm a sucker for clever lyrics too, so 'five feet tall, 100 psi' really worked too. You're good at this. The bass is a bit indistinct, but I think that's the earbuds.

The girls will hate the subject matter, but the boys LOVE the sound, talk about "radio ready"

you da man Greg:guitar:

Thanks Ray. Don't sell yourself short dude, your guitars tracks have gotten way better. Just keep dialing that Defender in. Or you can always mod that Super Bass into a Super Lead monster! :D

Thanks a lot man. I did go for a "mellower" less aggressive bass sound than I usually use. But earbuds probably aren't doing it many favors.

Ha, thanks dude. :)

I like the "100 PSI" line. Also like the "gonna love her until she pops" line. I like the answer back lines. I'm a sucker for that stuff. I know Lt. wasn't sold on the guitar tone of the riff line, but I liked it. I thought all the instruments sounded.

My only nit is on the vocal delivery in the slower parts of the song. Your wheelhouse is in the "almost screaming" area. You were a bit tentative in the "not close to screaming" parts of the vocal.

Fantastic! I have nothing else to add.

:thumbs up:
Thanks dude. :)

Thanks Trip. The softer vocal delivery is my deliberate yet futile attempt at "softening" it up for the lower energy part. It's *supposed* to be, my intention was for it to be sort of soft, vulnerable sounding, and sweet-ish. But I do suck at singing, and at being vulnerable and sweet, so that's what it came out like. :laughings:

This is really sweet. So romantic and vulnerable.
Cool tune though. Radio slick as usual, nice full guitars. I can't find a crack in it. I like the melodic lines that come in around 2.30.

Is there some kind of shaker going off in the first 30 seconds? I could swear there's something besides the ride bell going off, but it could be the soundcloud player mucking with my ears.

Managed to grab a listen to around half of this the other night before I was called away to some domestic duty or other. Hope to give the full thing a listen soon. Sounds great - usual immature subject matter that I like. I like the octave not quite chords in the intro - I've always liked that sound.

Listening on headphones I found the picked guitars in the quiter section very up close, then the heavier rhythm guitars were more distant sounding - was that deliberate? Great transition into the heavier half of the verse.

100 PSI would be one tough lady!
