Tascam DP 24 reverb.

Hi, on my new DP 24 I can set up the reverb from the effects menu lets say for track 1
and alter the various settings (delay-time-diffusion) OK. The problem is, it seems to transfer
these settings to every other track so I am unable to have different reverb settings on
other tracks. No matter which track I alter the settings on, they seem to get transferred
to all other tracks!

As a newbie I'm not sure if that's just how it works or I'm not setting up correctly and as the
the manual does not seem to be written for beginners if anyone could help that would be
much appreciated.

Hi.
Im not 100%, but i think if you have say track 1 and 2 for instance assigned to input A, then you cant change the effect settings for individual tracks.
But if you have each track assigned to a different input(Track 1 to A,track 2 to B) you should be able to change settings for each individual track.

yep, that is the way it works. any internal effect you have selected is the same for all tracks. also if you change the selection it changes for all tracks. you can only use one at a time. I use a outboard FX unit, use FX 2, and send the returns back to a stereo track on the DP. Check page 64 of the manual. "Dynamic Effects" section. Thanks

I actually bypass the factory effects on send one as well, using outboard effect units on both sends 1 & 2.
 
had a issue with mine, I had the FX sends set to PRE and with all of the faders pulled down I could still hear the reverb a little in the monitors, goes away when set to post. looks like pulling down the master would kill it but it bleeds through a little.

I've been cutting tracks for years, most always using fx sends set in Post, unless I needed to actually "print" the effect to the individual recorded track; which almost always caused problems with imaging during mixdown. The only exceptions are if recording bass or guitar tracks that might need a little compression to stabilize any lows or peaks in a player's performance volume.

Thanks, I normally use post also but set it to pre by mistake, just thought it was weird, but when set to pre you still get the signal sent even with the fader down, guess it was bleeding through the monitor buss. :cursing:
 
Exactly, "Pre" is pre fader, so the audio signal would go to the FX send even with the fader down.
"Pre" also sends the original input signal with whatever effect you're hearing to "tape" lol old school lol
