Midi kick from samples in Cubase

Hi everyone,

I've been looking for days for an answer on my question.
I previously used Logic Pro and by using the EXS24 as a sampler I was able to load multiple samples and assign them to my midi keyboard. If I then recorded through my midi keyboard I was able to record midi notes and have the correct sample played.

However I made a move to cubase (version 5.1) and I can't seem to find how for example I could load vengeance kick samples into cubase, assign it to a midi key on my midi keyboard and have it recorded in cubase. Any help is really appreciated. I've seen some youtube video's on the grooveone drum machine but i'm not sure if this is really what I'm looking for. Basically I would just like to have a sampler where I can load my samples into and then use these samples to record as midi.

I've seen someone using FL Studio for sampling as a VST in cubase. But I can't find how I can actually have the pattern recorded in cubase. Basically I just get playback from FL studio

Thanks!

it might be worthwhile upgrading the cubase 7.5 just for the new Groove Agent SE4, which can do exactly what you want, you can literally drag audio files into it, layer it, edit the audio all within an mpc style drum machine, which is very handy. I think it's possible to load samples into Groove Agent one but I don't know how, and it's definitely a bit more complex, sorry I can't help you more, you could always wait until cubase 8...

The old groove agent also had drag and drop sample functionality however I don't recall being able to stack multiple samples to one pad like you can on the newly designed one.

I'm almost 100% positive that multi sampled hits are out of the question (those that change over the velocity curve).

I hear you guys... but I've seen a video on youtube from a famous producer (EDM) and he uses FL studio as a sampler for his drums and thus uses it as a VST in Cubase. I have no problems setting it up as a VST instrument, but I do have issues having the midi keys shown in cubase.

Unless I'm missing something... Upgrading to 7.5 is not an option as I mostly do my work on my mac using Logic Pro. This setup is for on the go.
